Summary
“Monster straight ahead!” Nami shouted from the crow’s nest, her eyes wide behind her binoculars.
The sea ahead boiled as if boiling from the inside out. A massive shadow surged beneath the surface, long and serpentine, with too many fins and not enough eyes.
“What the hell is that thing?!” Usopp shrieked, already pulling out his slingshot.
Chopper clung to the mast with wide eyes. “It’s emitting some kind of sonar! My ears are ringing!”
Jinbei was at the helm in a flash, steering with precision, his face composed but tense. “That’s no sea king. That’s a deepwake leviathan. Rare. Aggressive. Attracted to sound and heat.”
Robin paled. “That’s a myth.”
“That’s what I thought, I have never seen one in my life, ” Jinbei said grimly. “But I heard that they feed on life-force. They drag ships under, crush them with sound, then feast on the wreckage.”
