Summary
A soft breeze tickled his face, brushing his hair across his forehead. It was cool but not cold; at the same time it bordered on warm though not uncomfortable. The ground beneath him was soft and inviting, beckoning him to stay there and rest, enjoy. Soft voices filtered through the air.
"Ace, look at me.” Whitebeard’s voice was stern, and Ace involuntarily glanced up to meet his gaze. “Do you remember what happened?”
Ace collapsed to the ground. “I’m- I’m dead?! Pops, you’re dead?! Why? If you-"
When Ace wakes up in the afterlife, his first thought is to make sure Luffy is okay. His second is to look for his long-lost brother, Sabo.
