Chapter Text

Rumi smiled contentedly as she snuggled with Mira and Zoey, her eyes flickered as they focused on the TV in front of her.

The girls had just got back from the idol awards and they were all exhausted. The moment they got back to their apartment they all collapsed into a big pile and watched HOURS of k-dramas. Rumi sat in the middle, as usual, as her girls lay beside her. Mira was on her left, in a big comfy hoodie and Zoey was in her usual pajamas.

Suddenly Rumi felt a small pain in her upper jaw and winced. "Ah! My tooth!" She gasped, her hand flying to her mouth.

"You good babe?" Zoey asked, her gaze clouding with concern, "Yeah, I'm fine! Just tired..." she replied. Mira looked at her skeptically and a slim eyebrow raised in response but she stayed quiet. Zoey just curled up into Rumi's side and sighed contentedly.

After a while Zoey's head was leaned onto Rumi's shoulder, her eyes fluttering as she breathed and faint snores were coming from her body. Mira on the other hand was fully awake and traced Rumi's patterns slowly, her eyes looking over every inch of them. Her pink hair was tied back in her usual two long ponytails and Rumi was toying with a small strand of it.

Rumi's patterns lazily pulsed a rosy pink, the iridescent stripes seeming to have flecks of purple, blue and white in them. They lit up the room, glowing softly in the dark.

"Why couldn't they just be gone..."

She didn't hate her patterns, not really. She just...wanted them gone. Celine made her hide them her entire life, shunning them, making sure that no one could know of the mistake her mother made.

Mira seemed to notice her distress and leaned closer to Rumi, "They're beautiful Rumi." she said, her brown eyes flickering in the light of Rumi's patterns. "You think so?" She replied quietly, her gaze meeting her girlfriend's. "I know they are." Mira replied, her eyes softening as she leaned in and gently kissed Rumi's lips.

Rumi's eyes shut as she soaked in the moment, one that she wished to last forever. She wanted to remember everything, the softness of Mira's lips, her gentle gaze and her hand on Rumi's waist.

As Mira pulled away, she felt her patterns flash a pale blue for a second. Mira eyebrow raised, "Enjoying it that much huh?" Rumi felt her face flush at her words. Their eyes connected together and they both erupted into a fit of giggles.

Suddenly Rumi sat up, "Ow, my lip," She mumbled as she rubbed her mouth with her hand, "That hurt."

She looked up, only to find Mira staring at her hand. "Rumi..." Mira asked, her voice darkening, "Is that blood?"

Rumi stared in shock at her hand, it had a small blood stain on it. Her eyes widened in horror, as she tasted a copper substance in her mouth, her teeth aching in response. "I-I'm gonna go to the bathroom." She said, standing up quickly.

Zoey, who was previously sleeping on Rumi's shoulder, was now wide awake because her nightlight girlfriend was gone. "Rumi? What's wrong?" Her voice clouded with worry.

Rumi's voice shook as she responded, "I-I'm fine, I'm just going to the bathroom, be back soon guys!" She smiled half-heartedly as she walked away, her mind spinning of all the possibilities of what the fuck was going on.

Mira and Zoey shared a you've-got-to-be-kidding-me look and both sighed.

Zoey gently fell into Mira's lap, "She's never going to admit she's hurt will she?" she groaned, her arms stretching slowly. Mira patted her head gently, her gaze following Rumi into the other room. "I doubt it..." She responded softly.

"I just wish she would be open with us, we're her girlfriends Mira!" Zoey exclaimed, her face making an adorable pout.

"I know she trusts us Zoey, but remember, Celine made her hide true self her entire life. She could never be completely open with us because of the fear that she would get hurt. Our job now is to be the best girlfriends we can be, just make her feel safe and I'm sure she'll be more open." Mira responded, sighing after. "I think she just needs...time."
