Chapter 1: Marcos 5th grade lore currently part 1

Chapter Text

Marco sat in the garden of his house. He watched the blackbirds chirp and fly around. It was a common pastime for him, though his parents didn't really enjoy it. They wished he could be like the other kids who aspired to be doctors, and lawyers. regardless; they loved and supported him.

Marcos bird-watching got interrupted as he heard with mom call his name. "¡MARCO! ¡LA CENA ESTÁ LISTA!(Marco! dinner is ready!)" she exclaimed. He quickly got up from the grass and muttered a quick"bueno (okay)" before opening up the door, leading inside. His mom and dad sat down at the kitchen table, a nice meal of chicken and soup on the table. Marco inhaled the smell through his nose, before sitting down. "Bueno, ¿cómo ha ido la escuela últimamente? Sabes, tu madre y yo hemos estado preocupadas. (Well, how's school been lately? You know, your mom and I have been worried.)" said his dad, a hint of sadness in his voice.

Marco doesn't really interact with other students since they dont understand him. Classmates always say that he "looks like a girl" and they "cant tell if hes a boy or girl". "Estuvo bien. (it was okay)" said Marco, playing with the chicken on his plate. His dad sighed, giving his mother a pained look. "No lo puedo creer del todo... pero, lo que tú digas, Marco. (I can't quite believe it... but whatever you say, Marco.)"after 30 minutes, Marco finished his food. "Gracias por la comida (Thanks for the food)" his mom smiled, telling him to have a goodnight. He walked upstairs into his room, closing the door and plopping down on his bed.

Hes only in 5th grade and he feels so bad...but why? well for one, he feels bad for being a burden on his parents, he also feels bad for not wanting to be a doctor. He wants to just write. he loves writing and reading stories about fictional characters. Sometimes, at school, he writes in his journal about characters he makes up in his head. Marco stood up and turned off the big light and laid down, staring at the clock on his bedside table. The time read 8;30 PM, it was his bedtime—though he isn't tired. He turned around onto his back, staring at the roof. 'i really need to start learning about cells and stuff... and... doctor stuff.' he thought. He didn't want to be a doctor, but its what his parents want, and he would do anything to please them. Slowly after overthinking, he drifted off to sleep.

The sound of the alarm clock was loud, screeching, annoying. The "beep beep beep" continued for a while until Marco decided to turn it off and get up. He went to his closet and grabbed one of many spares of his uniform. He stared off into the closet, looking down at the scrunchie that was hidden in the corner of his closet. He knew his parents can never find out about it, they would think its feminine, and he doesn't even have long hair to put into the scrunchie. He stared at the purple, and yellow hair tie for a few more seconds, before walking out the room and into the bathroom.

He carefully set the clothes down onto the toilet seat, turning on the shower and getting undressed. He cleaned himself for about 6 minutes before drying off, and getting dressed. he stared at himself in the mirror. 'short hair looks funny on me.' he thought. Marco started brushing his teeth and hair. After finishing that, he walked into the kitchen, greeting his parents. "¡buenos días, querido! (Good morning, dear!)" said his mother. his father giving a smile and saying good morning as well. He went into the kitchen, looking at the clock on the wall: 7:26. school starts at 8. Marco started eating the breakfast on the table, eating it way too fast.

His father and mother gave him a kiss on the forehead before saying goodbye as he went on the school bus. He walked to the front seats of the bus, popular kids in the back yelling and singing songs. He thought it was annoying. the seat he sat at had two spots, but the other one was empty. His mind drifted back to the scrunchie,he almost...related to the scrunchie. How it was hidden away, how it wasn't even meant for him, but he had it. it all felt too real; hurts him to think about. finally, the bus arrived at school. Escuela Roble Dorado for boys. it was a boys only middle school,it made him upset how he had to go there, but it wasn't that big of a deal.
