Just you and me, chatting
It was one of those days once again.
The time for a more philosophical discussion being at hand. Aptly named by Tech, to call these wee chats he enjoyed with Omega.
It was a very special time reserved for Tech and Omega, for the two to talk about all things life and also bonding with each other despite all their differences. Both of them trying to understand the other better.
This all having started during the time they had fallen into the cavernous waterfall, to their near deaths all the while arguing about Echo leaving their family way back when.
Thankfully now, Echo was back with the family again. But it did not mean the need for such talks was over. Far from it. They were all constantly learning new things and growing as people.
Living on Pabu, Tech and Omega having fallen into this pattern of having their discussions every now and again. Something great for them both and helpful as well. Sometimes, reminiscing on the past too.
“Remember when we were in that cave, Tech?”
“I remember. It was when you accused me for not caring about our family.”
It wasn’t a sore subject any more, the two having talked it over several times by now, something they could perhaps laugh about now.
And yet.
“Yeah, sorry about that, Tech.”
“No, I mean thanks. For for saying you’re sorry still. But guess I had not really put my feelings for any of you into words and you made me articulate how I really felt. Challenging me in a manner of speaking. Differently I had cared about you all before that like you very well know now, but still it had been difficult for me to tell any of you that. The way I care and love for you all now. As you said back then even Omega, we were… are a family.”
Tech having no difficulty expressing himself these days, quite on the contrary, almost to the annoyance sometimes. But none of them really minded the overflowing I love yous Tech was sprouting out during the oddest of moments. They adored and loved him back for it.
“Yeah and I was really angry back then feeling like it as all falling apart. Our family. Everyone was leaving.”
Omega really had been angry, having finally found her family and suddenly, it was starting to fall apart around her and she had felt helpless not being able to pull them all back.
“I do understand now, how you felt. It took me some time to digest all of it. Realising how much I too hated the change. Not to mention Crosshair and Echo leaving. I wasn’t… prepared.”
“Yeah. In know. None of us were.”
The two fell into a comfortable silence again, something which happened after a revelation. Digesting what was said. In that way, the two were quite similar.
It was true they had come a long way since that time. All of them growing and changing not to mention their ever growing family as well.
“Well, we got them back and then some!” Omega finally broke the silence, with a soft chuckle.
“Indeed we did and I could not be happier about it.”
Omega smiled after hearing Tech say he was feeling things. It always felt good to hear him say that. And most importantly, Tech felt happy, which could not have been greater to hear.
Omega hugged Tech. The genius having gotten used to the sudden outbursts of tactile contact by now, him hugging Omega right back.
“I’m happy too, for having all of you in my life and living here, all of us together. In Peace.”
Life could not have been better or happier right now.
