Imogen maneuvered the small rental car through traffic tapping the mic button on the wheel to leave a voice note for Elle.
I’m so excited about the job process but Dr Zahid had my stomach in knots. Thank God I wouldn't be her direct report because I would never get anything done… Fuck Elle, she was soooooo pretty.
Her phone pinged with an incoming message, and she hit the play button on the wheel, eager to hear Elle's response.
“Everything ok? I never heard back.”
She took her eyes from the road to glance at the first outgoing message… shit.
