Summary:

Seongje’s viewers loved shipping him with someone else, until the actual boyfriend walked into his livestream.

Work Text:

At 23, Geum Seongje was a college dropout and part-time tattooist. But online? He was a globally known Twitch streamer—famous for his insane gameplays, unfiltered commentary, and a face too handsome to be behind a monitor.

Started off small at first, with 15 to almost no viewers on some days.

Until one particular Valorant gameplay of his was uploaded by one his viewers and went viral everywhere. Especially on TikTok.

People were praising him for his insane angle shots and eagle eye.

But most importantly, his face.

Woah, is he a kpop idol??

Is he a model?

i dont even go here but his face card is so insane it got me watching the whole video…

whats his @ omg

Just like that, Seongje’s daily viewers rocketed through the sky. A miracle, really. He always thanked everyone that gifted him subs, sent him gifts and money during his livestreams .

Although he can be a little bit cocky, people didn’t care.

“Just 10 dollars? How about try giving me a hundred?” Seongje would chip off during one of his cracked-out FPS chaos, impromptu Just Chatting segments and cursed Minecraft builds.

His face card excused everything.

Then a few months later Seongje would go viral again, this time for a different reason.

The reason being him cursing out like crazy at strangers in a roblox game called Troll Tower. He went around trolling them with his stupid Skipper avatar (a penguin from Madagascar movie), slapping every person he saw with the in-game Hand item while mouthing off surprisingly creative drags that had people entertained and making hundreds of compilations.

Those compilations garnered a million views on YouTube and TikTok.

After that, he went viral, again. Again and again.

Got cancelled twice and recovered like, thrice.

Still he went on livestreaming as usual, because he was Geum Seongje and he didn’t give a single fuck about anything.

Nevertheless, as much as the fans loved watching his live, they loved it even more when he collabed with Suho, Juntae and Baku.

All of these guys were friends Seongje met through the gaming community. The people he eventually met up and sometimes hung out with.

Not all the time though since they all live in different districts, with their respective jobs and all.

His job as a tattooist was also the same reason why Seongje only went live on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

When Seongje and his friend do turn on their twitch live together, or talk about nothing to each other, just filming their discord conversation for all the viewers to see— Hashtags would trend, like:

#SujuBase (SUho + JUntae + BAku + SEongje), or sometimes #DSJSLive which stood for ‘Dongha, Seongmeok, Juntae and Seongje Live’. Yes, Dongha and Seongmeok were also one of the people Seongje would always play with from time to time.

But, there was also that one hashtag, harmless but that was also kind of… troubling.

The #Seongtae hashtag.

See, it was a bit troubling for Seongje because every now and then, the chat would go rabid with shipping talk, especially around him and Juntae.

Seo Juntae, adorable, baby-faced, witty and could be a big mouth when he wanted to. Paired up with Geum Seongje, features sharp and strong, handsome as hell, ragebaiting as a second hobby and tall. They loved it.

These people would clip their faces together, side by side and put on love songs in the background, sending a different message altogether. Whenever Seongje and Juntae laughed at the same time, cracked up at a joke either one of them spat out, or technically just breathing and existing in the same screen— these people would spam hearts or love memes in the chat, like crazy spamming.

ahn suhole:
OMG SEONGTAE CARRYING TOGETHER AGAINNN

seongje’s left foot:
my gaming boyfriends 👑👑👑

donghahahihi:
YALL ARE SO CUTE TOGETHER STOPP😭😭😭

juntae agii🦋:
seongtae drought ended why r we always winning

Seongje would hear Juntae say the same thing in his headphones every time people left those comments, voice dry and amused, “You guys really don’t know anything. Like actually. Not a clue. You would be surprised.”

Unlike Seongje, who just muted the chat, ignored everything and went back to gaming, maintaining his explosive plays. Casually getting three clean headshots in a row and still refusing to acknowledge the comments.

Honestly speaking, Seongje didn’t care at all. It was harmless and wasn’t a big problem. Because it didn’t affect him or Juntae.

But— it affected Hyuntak.

Go Hyuntak. His baby. His grumpy kitten.

His beloved.

His boyfriend.

Sometimes, Hyuntak would join one of Seongje’s lives in his anonymous account, then see people talking in the chat about Seongje’s apparent potential crush on Juntae because he laughed at his joke for a bit too long.

Then he would sulk, ignore and not talk to Seongje for hours because he was jealous. Because of those comments.

Even though Seongje literally knew Hyuntak through Juntae himself.

Baku, Juntae and Hyuntak were practically best friends since before they even knew Seongje. Adding Sieun who was Juntae’s friend, whose boyfriend was Suho, they all started hanging out with each other through one another.

The first time Seongje saw Hyuntak, he literally had a raging crush on him. Was rejected for like five times until he finally got him after relentless efforts, lame gifts and intimate late night calls (The I want yous and I miss yous worked well in Seongje’s favour).

“The first time I saw you, I thought damn, I wanna be in between those legs as soon as possible…” Seongje once told Hyuntak, half-asleep at 3 am.

Juntae was seriously nothing close to a threat to Hyuntak.

But Seongje would reassure him every time anyway. Whether it being him treating Hyuntak to his favourite donut, or cuddling until the shorter suffocated and finally talked to him, or fucking him like a horndog on their bed. On the couch, the kitchen counter— or anywhere, really.

As long as Hyuntak talked to him.

Seongje had asked him once while laying on bed, head in between his thighs, enjoying the feeling of fingers threading through his strands as he played Candy Crush on his phone.

“Why don’t you want me to show you off?” he muttered, “They’d love you, you know. All of those rumours could be gone because they’d all know you’re my boyfriend.”

Hyuntak would then answer, humming, “Eh, I still don’t want the fame yet. Let it be private and lowkey for a while.”

Because both of them knew one way or another people would find out about Seongje having a boyfriend eventually. Being famous and all, they couldn’t be private about it for long.

It was just natural.

And the reveal finally happened on a random Friday night.

Seongje was streaming as usual, this time with Dongha, Seongmeok and Juntae. Focus unwavering, eyes glued on the monitor and hands diligently working on the mouse. Fast and precise.

His teammates were all dead, those rascals, and he wasn’t, as always. Carrying the game like a total professional and showing the viewers flashy plays.

“Seongje, bag this one for us man!” Dongha yelled over his broken mic.

“You got this Seongje, we can totally win this,” Juntae encouraged over the sound of Seongmeok opening his bag of chips.

The corner of Seongje’s lips tugged up into a small smile.

He was one-hundred percent sure he already got the victory in the bag for him and his teammates. Just a few seconds left. One more push.

Over his headphones, he suddenly heard the sound of the door behind him creaking open.

“Seongje?”

Seongje didn’t react at first, thinking it was his imagination since Hyuntak never came into his room every time he was livestreaming. Still focused on the screen. Not noticing how his chat was now flooded with confused questions in a row, passing by like a blur.

“Yo, who’s that?” Seongmeok voiced out.

Seongje finally felt the presence of someone else standing behind him.

He slid one side of his headphones off and tilted his head, shifting his gaming chair a bit.

What he saw was the sight of Hyuntak curled up in his hoodie, drowning his figure. Sleeves covering almost the entirety of his hands as he grabbed the doorknob.

Hyuntak walked into frame, clueless. His eyes were droopy and half awake, as if he had just woken up from a deep slumber. Which he obviously did.

“Seongje-yah, can we go to the store? I’m craving corndogs like crazy right now,” Hyuntak rubbed his eyes and yawned.

The stream was still on. People couldn’t see Hyuntak because the frame was cut right where his neck was. The only thing visible was his big hoodie, a blur of pale thighs and black cotton shorts.

A beat of silence.

The chat was going crazy.

Seongje’s mousepad was still hot. On one side of his headphones, his teammates’s voice overlapped with each other: Bro who’s that? Seongje? Yo is that your boyfriend?

But Seongje didn’t notice. Didn’t hear anything. Didn’t even care at the moment because he was too busy staring at Hyuntak.

Distinctly, the sound of gunshot and his character getting killed off echoed in his left ear.

“…Corndogs?” Seongje said, gentle, like there was no stream. As if the chaos currently unfolding at the back was just background noise. Unimportant.

Hyuntak, dead serious, seemingly not noticing yet that he was on live, said, “Yeah. I’m starving. Let’s go.”

Seongje blinked, “Okay— yeah, yeah. Hang on.”

He turned his gaming chair around like nothing happened. Stood up and slid off his headphones entirely, one hand reaching out towards the computer plug and the other on the mouse.

“Alright guys, that’s it for tonight. Emergency run. Sorry,” Seongje couldn’t catch what the chat was saying because it was going by too fast, blurry as hell. But he didn’t care.

Dongha screamed, “BRO WHAT—”

Seongmeok also interrupted, “AYO WAS THAT—”

And the stream cut off.

“You were saying?” Seongje pushed his gaming chair under his desk and turned around.

“Were you streaming?” Hyuntak’s eyes widened, realizing what just happened. Looked around the room as if he was sleepwalking the entire time.

“Yeah, I was.” Seongje walked towards the door, Hyuntak following. He shrugged mindlessly, “They saw you.”

Hyuntak’s mouth formed an ‘O’. Seongje could see it slowly sinking in on him real-time.

Then he leaned down since he was a few inches taller than Hyuntak, and kissed him. A small peck.

Before the shorter could retaliate back, Seongje was already pulling away with a satisfied grin on his face.

Smug.

“Now they know you’re my boyfriend.”

-

Twitter was in uproar after that.

Specifically Seongje’s fans and Seongtae’s shippers. Hashtags of #SeongjeBoyfriendReveal and #CorndogBoy, keywords like ‘NOT JUNTAE’ and ‘SEONGJE’S BOYFRIEND’ were already trending in different countries. Like some pop star just revealed they were on drugs.

People slo-mo the stream, zoom in and screen-cap the clip of Seongje’s boyfriend’s thighs, analyze his voice tone, make memes of Seongje’s dumbstruck, lovesick face and fanarts within an hour.

The next day Seongje went on live again, he acted like nothing happened.

Not a single explanation.

And the chat was feral, demanding answers.

seongseongjeje:
SEONGJE SHOW US HIS FACE PLSSS IM BEGGING ON MY KNEES🙏🙏🙏🙏

bakus nostrils:
WE WANT TO KNOW WHO IT ISSSSS

joe mama:
u were literally the meme “my girl tell me to shut up and i do” yesterday😹

성제내첫사랑:

Seongje just smirked, played like he always did, “You guys really thought I’d date Juntae? My boyfriend’s way cuter,” he said, “Although he sometimes makes me lose my mind.”

“I’m gonna pass that message on to Hyuntak,” Juntae said in the discord call, mockingly offended. Earned a few snickers from Baku and Suho.

And the viewers were thrilled to finally know the name of Seongje’s boyfriend.
