Work Text:
Veritas Ratio was a normal person. With a normal family, normal friends (was it really normal if he never had any to begin with?) Overall, he had a peaceful life. almost even happy.
Ah, yeah, that was until college. He had a roommate- a very…interesting one, he could say. (no one would know what really happened between them. After all, it was history, and everyone says historians would call them roommates.)
Ah. How good were those times. He would keep in touch with so -called roommate, if he wasn’t the one on the grave right in front of him.
`tio..? Ratio, are you even listening to me?` Herta’s voice snapped him out of his mind. It wasn't raining or dark like any cliches. a sunny day, with people gathered around a grave, feigning sadness or even pity. Herta wasn’t familiar with the one who died. She was simply there to accompany Ratio, as a ‘plus one’. how futile he thought. transforming a funeral into some kind of..twisted party.
‘My apologies. I was simply..lost in thought.’’ Ratio sighed to himself, simply looking away. Everything here felt wrong. He wished he brought his alabaster head with him. At least he could grieve in peace then.
‘’Look,’’ Herta shaked her head, almost like she thought of apologizing for her behavior in this type of place, but decided not to. ‘’I know he was like..your boyfriend or something. but there wasn’t anything you could’ve done.’’ she spoke calmly, while looking down at the grave.
She was right, though. Ratio had to give her that. after all, HE had, according to his family, committed suicide without known cause. Though that woman wasn’t quite..reliable.
‘’I..see. let’s go, then’’ Ratio simply answered while looking to the floor. He turned his back to the scenery and sighed heavily. ‘’Goodbye, Kakavasha.’’

Veritas Ratio wasn’t exactly the definition of..normal. Too Smart to be average, too human to be a complete genius. Simply..there.
He wasn’t complaining. Far from it, truly. Now studying to get his third degree, this time in culinary science. He didn’t decide whether he was going for another doctorate or only a degree, but he would leave that aside for now. He had more important matters on the line, like not getting late for his job.
It was a fairly mundane one, if he could say so. Taking and making orders at a humble coffee shop close to Pier Point University’s campus wasn’t too bad. Ignoring the painful fact that he had to deal with classmates outside of the university. But the payment was considerably high for the standards of the area, so he didn’t mind. (If HE was still there, would he comfort Ratio in the nights when the sounds are too loud? when he couldn't seem to move his body because everything was too bright or colorful, when he saw people with similar hair to him and immediately tensed up, as if HE had come back from the dead to haunt not only his dreams, but his life.
..Why does he keep thinking about him? It's been years. Get a grip, Ratio. He won’t come back.
K4KaVaSHa won’t come back.
..
‘’Ahem.. can i order now?’’ An annoyed voice came from behind the counter. a customer, annoyed, for..some reason. wonder what that is about. ‘’I’d like an espresso with 20 shots of sugar, 10 of caramel…’’
Ratio simply stopped listening at one point. What on earth was wrong with these people and their..stupid iced coffee with more sugar than their blood?! How.. incredibly stupid.
“Alright, please wait for your order at the next counter.” He replied with an automated voice, with an ease coming from days and days of repeating the same process. It 's his life. Study, Work, Sleep. ever since he left his parents house, it's been that. “Next.”
Some years ago, the mere sight of blonde hair would've made him freeze. add some points if it was a man, but now, he considered himself over such a thing (that his co-workers insisted on calling ‘trauma’. tsk, as if.). Sure, he had nightmares one day or another, but what he saw made him actually stop
Those eyes.
Pink at first, being blocked by a dark blue circle around the pupil and fading into a magenta color deep inside. He knew these eyes oh so well. from the darkest of his dreams, to the most peaceful days of his life-

“Veritas! How are you feeling?” The voice was loud. A guy way too familiar at this point opened the door wildly, a grin plastered on his face, shining like the brightest sun.
“..Stop screaming, Vasha. I told you I'm fine.” Veritas answered with a soft sigh, slowly closing the book he was previously reading and placing on his lap. “It was just a cold, like I said it was.” He mumbled, looking away for a second.
“Ah, I'm glad. it would've been horrible if you lost any more classes than you already did because of that.” Vasha chuckled. “Jelena was worried too, you know? you never got sick or anything.”
“Ah..Tell her I said thanks.” He blinked slowly, not expecting someone else to actually..care. Jelena was a friend of Kakavasha. really close, he supposed. “..Where have you been? You're 10 minutes late for dinner.” He risked the question, a little hesitant.
“..Hmm? You worried, Veri?” Kakavasha laughed, shaking his head. “Don't worry~ I just had to deal with some family things. You know Jade wasn't letting me away after what happened last week.” He stopped laughing for a moment, almost serious, but then shook it away. “Anyways, thank you for waiting for me, Veri.”
“..Tsk, I'd wait for you, no matter what.”
“Always?”
always.
“Kakavasha? why aren't you answering me?”
“It's been 2 days. Please answer me.”
“Vasha?”
“Vasha. Please pick up. Jade is saying you're dead.”
“You're.. not dead, are you?”
“vasha?”

Ratio’s throat went dry. He didn't say anything, he just..stared at the person in front of him in shock, his eyes wide. And the person seemed surprised too, almost as shocked as he was.
“..Ka..kavasha?” Ratio whispered, his head spinning and hands clenching into a fist. he couldn't hear anything, expect the voice of Jade saying that Kakavasha had passed away from suicide.
“Ah. You're that boy he always talked about. hm…i suppose I was wrong in letting you take care of him.”
i killed him.
i killed him
i killed him.
I'm sorry.
I love you.
please don't go.
please

“..eri! Veritas!”
he didn't realize what happened. He just heard someone shouting his name, almost in panic, and blacked out.

“Mother?” A young child yelled, searching for his mother in a cold hospital, all alone. People rushed everywhere, taking care of other patients, searching for doctors and nurses, and yet, no one seemed to notice the panicking 6 year old.
“Mh..veri..” A voice called from a room. The boy followed it, recognizing his mother on the hospital bed. “My sweet, sweet child..” she sighed softly, caressing his hair.
“mommy..?” the child called out, tearing up from fear. He didn't like this place. It was too bright. too noisy. He wanted to go back to his house. to his room.
“veritas, my sweet child. i love you. when you grow up..Μην ξεχνάς ποιον αγαπάς. May Nous bless you, my son.”
“.. mom..?”

Ratio woke up in a sweat, on a bed that he quickly realized wasn't his. He kept quiet, pondering about where he was. His clothes were still the same, and he still had his phone in his pocket..was he kidnapped by someone extremely dumb?
“..Ah, you're awake!” A voice made itself known, as someone entered the room. that voice. He knew it from somewhere. who..
“.. Kakavasha.” He muttered in shock, his gaze locked on the blonde in front of him. those same eyes that once looked at him with nothing more than love, that hair that he used to play while studying for their exams, that face.
Oh, that face. If he had time, he could and would write endless poems about the eternal beauty he saw. about how those sad, yet gentle eyes were the most passionate thing he ever saw in his life, about how they represented his sun, not because it was so shiny, but simply because he couldn't see himself living without them. Ah, how long has it been?
“.. Veritas. I'm.. I'm sure you must be.. surprised. Please, call me Aventurine.” Aventurine sighed, sitting on the edge of the bed- his bed. “I have a lot to explain, don't-” He was cut off by a hug.
“You..idiot!” Veritas hugged him tightly, wrapping his arms around that thin frame, resting his chin on his shoulder, as tears started to leave his eyes.* “I..i thought you were dead..! that you hated me!”
“Wha- No! I could never hate you, Veritas.” *Aventurine immediately hugged him back, even if a little awkward. It's been quite a long time since he..hugged someone.* “I.. I'm sorry. I'm here now, Veri.”
They sat there, hugging each other for a while. Veritas eventually calmed down, while Aventurine simply whispered comforting words on his ears while caressing his back.
Aventurine explained how he- Kakavasha, had to fake his death at that age because of his caretaker, Jade. how she wanted him to cut everything with his life and go work for her at her company. how he had to abandon everyone with Jelena, now known as Topaz. How he begged to at least say goodbye to Ratio, and was punished with a ‘death’.
“I..i can't believe this. that..witch-” Veritas grumbled in anger. He couldn't believe that, truly. all these years of regret, of dealing with himself alone.. because of her, or whatever. it made his blood boil.
“I know, I know..” Aventurine sighed deeply. “But..I found you again. And I won't let you go this time. You know, Veritas?” He promised. “You're mine.” he smiled faintly, turning to place a quick kiss on his cheeks. “I always regretted not telling you this sooner..but the truth is, I like you. always did, actually.”
Veritas freezed for a moment, processing what just happened. He met his dead best-friend-roommate-crush again. Then he confessed his feelings. oh. alright. seems fine.
“.. Excuse me?” he simply managed to mutter in confusion, causing Aventurine to burst out laughing. “My apologies, I'm just.. processing.”
“Nah, no problem, doc. I get it~” Aventurine joked. Ratio wondered how he knew about his doctorates-
“Why don't I show you it instead of saying?” Before Ratio could ask what on earth that meant, Aventurine leaned in and pressed their lips together.
It took some seconds for Ratio to understand, and when Aventurine almost pulled away, thinking he got too far, The taller one kissed him back, their mouths moving in syntony, while slowly deepening the kiss. Ratio hesitantly wrapped his arms around Aven’s waist, feeling how skinny he was. not a good sign, he noted for himself later.
“Heh..I didn't expect you to know how to kiss that well, Doc.” Aventurine teased after pulling away in search of oxygen. There was a huge grin plastered on his face, and he was clearly enjoying this a little bit too much.
“Oh, shut it..” Ratio grumbled, his face going red. “You..pervert.” He closed his eyes, just to feel a pair of hands creeping onto his chest. “.. Don't-”
“Too late~” He grinned while cupping one of Ratio’s breasts, giving it a tight squeeze. “Mhm.. They're soft.” he giggled, while a soft moan escaped Ratio’s lips without him realizing.
“Y-you..! Vasha-” Ratio was once more shut up by another squeeze, making him tremble slightly. He shot Aventurine an annoyed gaze, scoffing silently. “Stop it, idiot.”
“Hmm..What about..” Before finishing the sentence, Aventurine leaned down, lifting Ratio’s shirt up, so he could be face to face with the man’s bare chest. He leaned closer, giving a light bite to one of his nipples. “this?”
Ratio couldn't help but moan, squirming under the blonde’s body. He could feel Aventurine’s erection pressing against his thighs, and simply sighed. “Ah..You..stupid idiot.. don't be harsh..”
That was all he needed to hear. Immediately after that, Aventurine got rid of Ratio's shirt, fiddling and playing with his nipples, while placing innocent kisses on his neck, which would slowly grow into bites, leaving some marks.
“Ah..Vasha..Mm..” He gasped and sighed lightly, while Aventurine continued his explorations. “It's..not fair..Mm..”
Aventurine simply chuckled and pulled away for a moment, receiving a confused glare from Veritas. “Mhm, Don't worry. I'm not going anywhere.” He Chuckled, before slowly removing Veritas pants, finally being graced with the sight of his throbbing cock. he gave it a light kiss on the nip, giggling with the sweet sounds that Ratio did.
Overwhelmed with a need to taste his Ratio, Aventurine leaned forward, dragging his tongue along the weeping slit to lap up the salty-sweet beads of pre-cum. “You like it, don't you? It's already so hard for me, Veri.” Aventurine cooed, chuckling darkly.
Determined, Aventurine wrapped his soft lips around the swollen head, engulfing it on his mouth. He swirled his tongue around the crown, tracing the ridged flesh as he savored every contour.
He proceeded to raise one of his hands to masturbate Ratio, making the sounds that already filled the room go even more loud.
“Mmm..Vasha.. I'm..close!” Ratio warned, seconds before he came. Aventurine smirked, feeling the warmth of Ratio’s cum on his throat, drinking everything with a smile.
“Mh..tasty. just like I expected.” he sighed softly, cleaning his mouth calmly. “Are you alright, Veri?” He aske
d, giving him a kiss on the cheek in concern
“I'm.. I'm fine..but don't think you're escaping the Conversations we need to have.”
“..heh, I wouldn't have it any other way, Veritas.”
