"Octavius..?" Jedediah whispered to his partner whilst they lay snug in bed together.
"Hmmm?" He hummed back, nearly asleep on his side of the bed. "What is it, love?"
Jedediah couldn't help but blush at the word. "You do love me, right?"
This woke Octavius up entirely, he turned to face Jedediah. "Of course, I do, amor." He said gently. "What makes you feel the need to ask?" His concern could be heard through the darkness between them.
Jed's face, while unseen for the most part, turned a darker shade of red, "I was jus' wonderin' is all."
Octavius caught his eyes in the scarcity of what little moonlight in the room. He gripped Jed's shoulders under the covers, holding firm and steady, but not painful. "There is a reason you asked, Jedediah. I need you to know how much I do love you.. I never want you to doubt my love for you."
Jed chewed his lip, "But if there was ever a reason, or another person--"
"There will never be a reason or another I could love nearly as much as I do you. Jedediah, what brought this upon you? A nightmare?"
Jed swallowed hard. "What made it so obvious..?"
Octavius sighed. "You just kept asking... The way you persisted, amor..." He held Jedediah's cheek in his palm. He adjusted himself to a more upright position, pulling jed up with him so they were on even, facing each other. "What did you dream?"
"Aw, it was nothin' special. Jus' a nightmare is all, not to worry..."
Octavius looked earnestly at his partner, brushing some loose strands of hair behind his ear. "You don't need to relive it to tell me, so I won't prod you, Jedediah.." He inhaled, ready to speak again but jed interrupted his thought.
"You said you hated me and never wanted to see my sorry excuse for a face again!" He blurted, screwing his eyes shut, afraid of the reaction it would create.
Octavius couldn't help but let a chuckle out. Jedediah opened his eyes, to look back at him with a it of hurt in his expression. In return, Octavius kissed his nose playfully. "Carissime, it was only a dream. You know me better than that, don't you?"
Jedediah looked down, a little embarrassed. "Yeah, I guess so. It just seemed too real, y'know?"
"I can't say I don't have similar fears, my love." Octavius looked at him thoughtfully. "We may have shared a nightmare, or several. The tablet may bring our bodies to life, but it certainly lights our minds aflame.."
Jed just blinked. "Damn, you make me more confused than a sunflower in a snow field... but I think I get what you're tryin' to say." He grinned. "Sorry fer worryin' you."
"Jedediah, you only worried me for but a moment. I had only thought you had a non-dream related problem." He pressed a kiss to his forehead. "But next time you have a nightmare, just tell me so."
Jed chuckled a little "I will."
