Summary
Mel never planned to drag a fake boyfriend to her cousin’s wedding, but family pressure (and meddling sisters) left her with no choice. And Bob would have to do. Never mind that she and Bucky had… a thing. A one-night thing, followed by radio silence, because of course he was off saving the world instead of clarifying where they stood. But then Bucky shows up—uninvited, infuriatingly charming, and way too good at pretending to be her boyfriend.
“What about Bucky?” Bob asked suddenly.
Mel blinked. “What about Bucky?”
“I mean, don’t you think he’d want, like, the right of first refusal?”
“Bob,” Mel sighed, “this isn’t a house sale. Besides, he’s not around to ask…”
“Still,” Bob pressed gently, “you like him, right?”
Mel looked away, toward the matcha bowl like it held all the answers. “Yeah. Maybe. Kinda.”
