For The Last Time

Summary:

Double drabble (200 words) ahead:

This is a short look into the tired mind of Kenta and his last moment with Kim.

Notes:

This is a double drabble (200 words). So it's short and sweet...except the theme of this is not sweet. It's sad because I'm sad.

Sorry for any typos :)

Work Text:

He knew Kim loved him, and he loved him too; but love doesn’t heal and time doesn’t either. Kenta was out of time and energy, and he mourned what could’ve been with Kim. Their last day spent together was taking a quick visit to the garage, going out to Kenta’s favorite spots, and then coming home for the rest of the night. This was what he reminisced about standing in their bathroom before downing a full bottle of pills he managed to acquire. Kenta gave his all for the last time so Kim would have something good to outweigh the bad when he found him. Kenta crawled into their bed, “please hold me,” and Kim did. They shared small kisses, and Kenta cherished the last time he’d see Kim smile, feel his kiss, relax into him, and hear his love confessions. The last memories Kenta let play behind eyes as he faded away held Kim at the center of them. Kenta wished there could’ve been more memories, but he was grateful for what he did have. He took in Kim’s sleeping form for the final time, “ I love you, but I can’t anymore. I’m sorry that I wasn’t strong enough.”
