It was hard to make a solid choice.
Everything you and Marik took a glance at seemed appealing, although some of the flavors of kakigori looked, and smelled, more enticing to want to give a try.
”There’s so many… too many to try from, love – whatcha think, should I go with a Kinako one, a Strawberry one? Or maybe a ‘Blue Hawaii’?” Marik couldn’t make his mind up, musing beside an equally indecisive Yuki narrowing down which one she wanted to go with.
”Hmm, well, let’s see… Strawberry is usually one of your fail safes, so, if a roasted peanut flavor doesn’t sound good, or if the taste of a playful piña colada doesn’t; then I’d go with strawberry.” Yuki’s colorful descriptions did nothing but catch Marik’s interest, which prompted him to ask for a run down of what was in a Blue Hawaii.
A quick description of its ingredients swayed Marik’s final decision (although he’d tweak the combination just a hair by adding a touch of ice cream to his sweet treat), and he’d walk away from the concession stand with his customized Blue Hawaii kakigori in hand, while Yuki settled for a mango one with condensed milk and a few strawberries to top it off.
”Mm – you were right, Yuki! The pineapple and coconut go well with the ice cream! I don’t even mind the bit of orange I taste, this was a good choice!” Marik rhapsodized, enjoying the way the delightful flavors went down so smoothly.
”We should try and replicate these when we get back home.” Marik ruminated a moment before shifting his attention towards his partner, happily having downed half of her confection, and blissfully unaware of the smudge of it she wore on one corner of her lips.
A subconscious reach over to wipe away the remnants of Yuki’s desert earned an expression of surprise, followed swiftly by the wonderfully contagious tinkle of her laughter that elicited a rich guffaw out of Marik – making them both seem silly to those they strolled by on their way towards the fireworks being set off.
A small, sincere ‘thank you’ was exchanged to Marik before Yuki could catch him eyeing her own half-eaten desert, and after shoving another bite or two down, he suggested they swap so he could ‘sample’ Yuki’s.
Brushing back light black strands behind her ear prevented Yuki’s hair from dipping into her newfound goodie, and, for a moment, she couldn’t believe she simply allowed Marik to trick her into giving up her own so he could finish it.
’He’s lucky he’s so damn cute…’
Yuki’s pout was brief, with a small, warm smile slowly creeping its way across her face as she glanced down into the bottom of a Blue Hawaii cup she’d just polished off, too. She couldn’t even feign being upset with Marik when he pulled off his shenanigan so smoothly, and his initial purchase had been just as good as hers was.
”Was it good?” Yuki poked fun at Marik, feeling instant complacency when she saw a flush of shame tinge his tawny cheeks, ”I could make these for you… but it’ll cost you.”
”It was delicious, and it would be nice if you did make these.” Marik jested back, ignoring the undeniable heat of embarrassment and slight arousal assaulting his face as he dared to stare deep into Yuki’s cerulean’s, ”You do love me enough to do that – right? I’ll gladly do anything for you to get these homemade, my dear.”
Marik almost couldn’t contain his laughter, and a snort accidentally ripped its way past the tight-lipped smile of his, resulting in both of them erupting into another fit of giggles anyway.
Entering into Marik’s space brought about the same hard thump of his heart, and his chest pinched with the excitement that always came with Yuki being so close to him.
A wrap of one of Yuki’s arms around Marik’s pleasantly warm one brought about a hum of content from Yuki, and just when she went to lean her head against his shoulder, a cry of their names put a pause on the intimate moment the couple were having.
A cheerful Yugi and Tèa could be seen waving them over from between faces in the crowd, and after tossing away their emptied cups, Marik and Yuki rushed over to meet and catch up with them!
After a short exchange, Yugi extended an open invitation for Marik and Yuki to tag along with him and Tèa to join the others already gathered for the main event!
It was a joy to see everyone… Well, mostly everyone.
Yuki and Taura (Ryou’s current girlfriend) weren’t that fond of each other, and an icy glance up and down the other could be caught if anyone were truly paying attention to them.
A gap between the two women permitted both parties the chance to thoroughly relax and enjoy the buzz of the thrill the first round of fireworks brought when they painted the nighttime sky dazzling cool colors, and Yuki couldn’t resist cuddling in a bit closer to Marik as a shiver shook her upper body – though not due to her being chilly.
The heat rolling off of Marik seeping into Yuki’s skin made her feel utterly embraced by his energy, and as she tilted her head to look up at her handsome partner, he took a glance down to check on Yuki and pondered what she could possibly be asking for with those big bright blues of hers.
The blue sheen from Yuki’s hair only served in making her appear much like a sea-maiden, captivating Marik and enticing him to delicately card through the silky tresses of hers as he leaned down to steal a kiss from Yuki.
The union was an explosion of varying honeyed flavors lingering along the surfaces of tongues and blending whenever they met to tease the other, leaving both feeling light and dizzy, and their skin prickling as a rush of excitement tickled their nerves.
And if they weren’t so public, Marik and Yuki would’ve absolutely had no problems doing a bit more canoodling.
But, unfortunately, they were, and the feeling of disgruntlement came with having to pull away for air.
”We’ll continue this later.” Marik murmured into Yuki’s ear before leaning down to nibble on her lobe, and he smirked against her when he felt Yuki twitch to the risqué grind of her lobule between the soft pinch of his teeth.
”I’ll hold you to that.” Yuki lightly purred before giving Marik a gentle peck on the cheek and returning her attention to the bursts of warmer colors illuminating the space above the lake.
