Extremely self indulgent Crepuscular fic

Work Text:

"Crepuscular eh?" The southern man said, leaning against the bedframe. "Weird name, but I ain't one to judge," he chuckled. "I'm just glad ya finally told me ya real name."

Crepuscular slumped down onto the bed, laying on Carter's fluffy stomach. He was a very thin man but had a bit of tummy to him. The taller man glanced up at his companion. "Yeah," he said simply, feeling too vulnerable after confessing so many personal things about him. It felt gross. Nobody should know the full story. Especially not a mortal. But he knew Carter was trustworthy. He didn't care enough about things to tell everyone everything.

The scarred man hadn't been this naked with someone ever since his ex girlfriend left him. He didn't think he had it in him to be so honest with a smoker he met only two months ago and yet here he was.

If he could, he'd close his eyes to avoid eye contact but that was impossible due to the whole not having eyelids thing. He let out a sigh and felt something gently prod against his exposed teeth. Mentally, he smiled and opened his mouth, biting down on the blunt as he took a deep inhale of the stress reliever. He instantly calmed down. Damn Carter. Always knowing what he needed.

He felt the hairy man's thin hand go through his hair and let out another sigh as he leaned into the gentle touch. "So, all this magic gizmo stuff," Carter began, moving the blunt away and to his own lips instead. "You're 100% sure it ain't no devil work.." Crepuscular chuckled. He had spent so long trying to convince Carter it wasn't some evil force that cursed him. "I'm pretty damn sure," he replied, a smile in his voice. He glanced back up at Carter who seemed to think for a moment before smiling. "Alright. I trust ya."

Trust.

Damn it hurt hearing that word. Crepuscular didn't deserve to be trusted. No, he wanted Carter to be more wary. He wasn't a good person. He didn't deserve love or trust. He wanted revenge. Not to be a hero. But he kept all of that to himself. He didn't need to ruin the mood because of his dumb insecurities.

Carter sat up with a slight groan, taking a long puff of the blunt before leaning down and pressing his lips against the tallers teeth, exhaling into his mouth. "Don't get ya self killed now, Berty. I care about ya. I ain't need you dying just yet alright?" He whispered against his teeth. Robert had been the name he gave the other to use when he was still lying to him. "No promises," Crepuscular said, chuckling to make it seem like a joke. "I mean it, idiot. I love ya alright? I know that word's strong but it's what I feel. I need ya alive and happy or you'll ruin my day. No wizard war nonsense or fighting dragons, ya hear?" Crepuscular nodded, his head on the man's lap now. "You're warm," he whispered gently. "I know," Carter replied.

The two laid there for some time in silence, sharing the smoke between them and the occasional kiss. The moment was... peaceful. Crepuscular liked peace. It made his mind go all numb and made him.. happy. He was happy and didn't care about his past or his future. He only cared about the present. The present with this cute farm man and the smoke they shared.

He felt a gentle kiss on his forehead and let out a gentle sigh of relaxation. "I'm sorry," said Carter. Crepuscular glanced up. "For?" Another kiss in his forehead. God, he could get used to this. "For what you went through," came Carter's voice. "You didn't deserve any of it. I hope karma does well and ruins that horrible man." Crepuscular had a smile in his head. "He is a horrible man," he replied with a soft voice, too relaxed to allow himself to get angry at the memories of being left to die. He really needed to get in contact with Carter's dealer. This stuff was unbeatable.

Another kiss on his forehead. He was relaxing even more, snuggling up closer to the hairy man. "Warm," he mumbled. "You've said that already," replied Carter. "Have I?" "Mhm." "Interesting."
