Work Text:
The crew was packed in one day. Alex didn't pack anything. Morgan and Ohio were ready in an hour. Adrienne was ready in two hours, and helped Leto pack in three. Barnaby also took three hours, but Ohio was jokingly slowing him down so he could stay the night. He ended up staying over, sleeping late and yelling at the group chat to get to the airport, the plane leaves in two hours, and it's TSA's busy hour.
Alex Stewart had went through the TSA in a breeze. He was stopped as a random security check and almost made a hole through the officer's chest from nerves. Morgan managed to calm him down though. They were through security when Ohio's text messages came through.
Adrienne and Leto were at the entrance to the TSA's waiting line when Ohio's messages came through. They both laughed at Ohio and took a couples selfie at the line, to which Morgan responded with his own couple's picture, Alex, showing his yellow eyes in a somewhat secretive manner behind him, and the boarding gate behind them. Ohio frowned as Barnaby drove to the airport, just under the speed limit so they wouldn't be pulled over. Leto and Adrienne were just past security and were walking to the gate when Barnaby and Ohio arrived.
Ohio and Barnaby made it as the others were boarding the plane. They were sat in a small group, Alex in besides Morgan, across the aisle Leto and Adrienne, and Barnaby and Ohio in front of Morgan and Alex. Leto was in the window seat, because otherwise she would have been a fire hazard with her wings. She was still a fire hazard, but to far less people than if she was in the aisle, and her wings would not have been trampled by the flight attendant's carts. All in all, the flight was basically uneventful.
The group landed safely in Brazil and took two taxis to get to the Amazon rain forest. The remainder of the trip took three days on foot. They encountered a stone wall hidden in the mountain. Ohio found a loose stone and the wall opened to a short hallway that led to an elevator. After a quick eight hour rest, both Ohio and Morgan claim its bad luck to enter an abandoned structure at night, they entered the gray hallway. The floor was unusually smooth and soft, it felt like it was made of rubber. Leto was hesitant, but with Alex mocking her she stepped out onto the floor. As soon as Leto put both feet on the rubber, she fell through the floor.
“Leto!” Adrienne cried.
“That's not good.” Morgan and Ohio said.
“Do you need me to save her?” Alex rolled his eyes. As soon as Alex readied a punch, the hallway slammed shut and the smaller group was plunged into darkness. Then the room started to shake. The people in the room slammed into each other like rocks in a rock tumbler. Before the room stopped and the doors opened into an empty storage room.
A collective groan came from the less powerful individuals in the room. Alex helped Morgan up while the rest stood up on their own.
“Okay, this is dumb. I'm bringing Leto back, any complaints?” Alex asked, then snapped his finger after no one complained.
“What the,” Alex, confused, kept snapping his fingers. “It's not working. Hold on.” Alex tried to summon Ohio in front of him, partly to scare, partly to test, and it didn't work. What was wrong with this place?
“My power isn't working here. But, we aren't in the eternity area, it's too quiet.”
“Barnaby are you okay?” Ohio asked.
“Y-Y-Yeah, I-I'm fine.” Barnaby replied. Meanwhile, everyone could hear the gears working in Alex's head. “IS KOTETSU STILL HERE?” he quickly shouted.
“N-no, he j-j-joined me when w-we were f-f-fal-l-ling but I-I c-c-can't f-f-feel him a-anymore.” Barnaby stammered.
“NOOOOOOOOOO!” Alex cried as he fell to his knees.
