The Spire is a tough place.
Of course it is- if it wasn't, everyone in here would've left by now! They wouldn't have bothered making all these little societies if they could've just hopped out a window!
Or, well, The Silent would've just hopped out a window. Maybe the others would have found a more conspicuous way.
She sits at the campfire, watching its light dance on the ancient-looking stone walls. The bricks have cracked over time, and she traces the natural footholds with her eyes. She doesn't even look at the hammer.
She stands up, barely feeling more alive than when she sat down.
Not being injured is good for survival, obviously, but that's not a very sure bet. Especially because she's not used to fighting- she's a huntress, after all. She's used to killing. Sneak up on a target, stab and poison them as many times as it takes for them to fall.
Normally, one would adjust one's strategy when one's against stronger enemies.
All this really means to her is that she's back to hunting big game.
She swallows the lump in her throat. Her heartbeat stays there, even as she takes a shiv.
What's another boss?
