Rain and sunny weather go hand in hand together

Summary:

Naruto and Sasuke enjoying domestic life together.

Notes:

This is a short fic of Sasuke and Naruto being all sweet and warm one morning. I was going to make it longer but I saw the opportunity to make a natural end to it and clear up some space in my WIPs (Space for new WIPs) and just had to cease it. This will likely get a part two as a different fic in a series that will be able to be read as a stand alone.

The title is a lyric from the song 'Pain is so close to pleasure' by Queen.

My first language isn't English so if there are mistakes I'm making in regards to spelling or formulating please tell me.

I hope you enjoy it <3

Work Text:

The sun beams which warmed up the room were the first thing Naruto noticed when he woke up. His consciousness slowly came to the surface as he could feel Sasuke’s chakra enveloping him. He had quickly gotten used to the warm feeling their home emitted every morning from their chakras swirling together in their sleep but he would never stop appreciating it.

A soft knock was heard on the bedroom door and when Naruto slowly opened his eyes he could see Sasuke peering into the room, but first when Naruto sat up did Sasuke move further in. “Tea.” Sasuke informed him in a soft voice, as if to not scare the sleep away from Naruto, as he handed Naruto a fairly big white cup with steam disappearing into the air above it.

“M’anks.” Naruto mumbled with his lips against the porcelain, blowing on the hot liquid. Tired blue eyes meet observant black ones as Naruto sighed after a sip. He felt how the tea warmed him up from the inside as it went down, Sasuke doing the same as he gazed at Naruto.

“I’m making breakfast; get dressed and come to the kitchen.” Sasuke said while sweeping some hair out of Naruto’s face, his fingers gently brushing against Naruto’s whisker marks, before leaving the room.

Naruto’s eyes lingered on the door for a moment before he sat his cup down on the nightstand in order to get dressed. When he flinged the covers of him he shuddered before quickly getting into his clothes so he wouldn’t feel cold for long. Picking his mug up he drank a clunk of the now somewhat cooler liquid before bringing it with him to the kitchen where he saw Sasuke setting down plates on the table.

Sasuke eyed him briefly before quickly moving to the cupboards for a pair of water glasses. Naruto put down his cup on their table before moving to where Sasuke was reaching for a glass and embracing him from behind. “Good morning.” Putting his arms around Sasuke, Naruto planted a kiss on Sasuke’s cheek before placing his head in the crook of Sasuke’s neck.

“Morning to you too dobe.” Sasuke brought a hand up to Naruto’s head and slowly ran his fingers through the bright hair as he spoke. “I made toast.” Sasuke turned his body around in Naruto’s arms so that they were facing each other. Naruto pressed Sasuke against the counter as he sought more contact, melting from the heat Sasuke's body provided against his skin. He could feel how Sasuke’s fingers went through his hair and could hear Sasuke’s pulse calmly going ‘boom boom boom’. Naruto slowly breathed in and then out, his muscles relaxing into Sasuke’s.

Naruto peeled himself off Sasuke and cupped his cheek. As his thumb went over the soft skin Naruto gave Sasuke a flutter of a kiss, soft and warm but not long. “So toast?” He asked. It was not an unusual breakfast for them but normally Sasuke would make it only for himself until he got enough of Naruto’s whining of being neglected and starving.

Naruto moved to the table and sat down where he had placed his cup of tea. He watched as Sasuke walked over and sat down opposite him while placing down a glass for himself and one for Naruto. He watched as Sasuke grabbed a piece of toast and put butter on it. He watched as Sasuke began eating his toast and poured up some water for himself. He watched with a fuzzy feeling in his chest which only grew warmer as he kept watching.

“What do you want?” Sasuke sounded irritated. He had never appreciated when Naruto stared at him, especially not in the morning. Naruto only smiled however.

“Nothing at all.” He said as he started smearing jam on his own piece of toast. “I was wondering though...” He said after swallowing his first bite, which caused Sasuke to sigh and roll his eyes. “Why make breakfast for me too. Not that I don’t appreciate it because I do, thank you Sasuke, but why? You don’t normally and must’ve gotten up earlier as well.” Naruto had finally woken up fully and was back to talking and talking and more talking.

“Nightmare.” Was all which Sasuke responded with. He had woken up about an hour earlier from a nightmare, not a terrible one but one that still made him unable to fall back asleep.

Naruto understood, no more needed to be said, he also had the occasional nightmare. He didn’t pressure Sasuke to talk about it; some Sasuke shared with him but others he’d rather keep to himself. Naruto was the same. “Alright, the toast is really good, oh and you know how I have to go to Sakura’s later to pick up some things? Yeah, I was thinking I could go to the store as well and then we could make dinner at home for once, you know? So is there anything you’d like to eat? Oh! Or you could come with me to Sakura’s and we can go to the store together afterwards!” Naruto giggled as he sat and ate his toast, washing it down with the tea Sasuke had made him.

“No, I have to pick up mission details.” Sasuke had his own cup of which he blew the steam from before drinking. “Anything from the store will be fine.” He said, setting his cup on the wooden coaster.

“Yeah but I know you’ll complain once we have to actually use what I bought, you always say ‘anything is fine’ but then you get on my ass about not knowing what goes together and stuff.” Naruto had never been a very good chef, instant ramen being about the extent of his cooking abilities.

“I’ll write you a list and anyone with common sense knows-” Sasuke gets cut off by Naruto complaining about how Sasuke always has to bring up ‘that time’ even though there were about fifty different ‘that time’.

Naruto knew there were no hard feelings, the banter was common for them, and the small smile he got from Sasuke was the confirmation.

—---------------------------------------------------

Sasuke always liked watching Naruto. It made the pesky feelings in his chest flutter. At least that’s what he thought long ago, now however he quite liked the feelings. A sort of warmth crept through his skin as he watched Naruto put the groceries away from behind his book.

He had been reading when Naruto returned home but he found it difficult to concentrate on the words splattered on the pages in front of him with Naruto in the room. His brain, and heart, finding the blond to be much better entertainment.

Sasuke watched as Naruto hauled a bag of flour up on a shelf. He watched as Naruto’s arms flexed and relaxed. He watched as Naruto stood on his toes to reach the shelf to set down a jar of something on. The things Naruto was holding were of no importance. He watched how Naruto moved back and forth in their kitchen. He watched from a chair in their living room where he was sitting with a book up to his nose just... watching Naruto. His Naruto.

Sasuke felt his heart flutter. Naruto had been his for a while now but the butterflies in his stomach, which fluttered all the way up to his chest, always came to life whenever he thought about it. Their eyes met. Sky blue ones peered into Sasuke’s own purely night black ones. As quickly as his reflexes allowed him, Sasuke looked down at his book; his shoulders tensing up into his body and his knees drawing up closer, pressing the book almost flat to his face in an attempt to hide the burning blush.

A giggle was heard across the open room as Naruto moved closer to the chair Sasuke was situated in. “Isn’t it hard reading with the book so close to your face?” He asked as he slowly removed the book from Sasuke’s hands.

Sasuke’s eyes darted to the side, avoiding the undoubtedly smiling blond in front of him. “I was reading perfectly fine for your information.” He hadn’t been reading for the past fifteen minutes but Naruto didn’t need to know that. “Don’t you have groceries to put away?” He glared at Naruto, trying to make him go away.

“Nope, all finished.” Naruto smiled brightly. A ray of sunshine hit him through the window, making Sasuke’s glare melt into a soft gaze. So warm, Naruto’s presence always felt so warm like he produced exes of it just to share with others.

Naruto put a hand up and slowly slid it into Sasuke’s hair, taking a step forward in a smooth movement placing himself in between Sasuke’s legs, he tilted his lovers head upwards in order for their eyes to be in continues interlocution. As Naruto leaned down Sasuke’s eye’s fluttered shut, trusting that he wouldn’t be in danger of doing so in the presence of his one and only inside of their shared home. Almost as soon as they landed; Naruto’s soft lips were removed from Sasuke’s, their foreheads resting against one another and their eye’s once again looking into each other's souls. They had found a way other than exchanging blows to read the other’s heart.

“I love you.” They both echoed.

Notes:

I would appreciate comments as well as tips on how to write better as I'm always striving to perfect my craft. I'm having kind of a hard time getting any kind of criticism of my writing from other sources so it would really help.

I always take notes on all the fics I write and here are the one's I took for this one:
Tea while the sun is shining through the window, I feel warm just thinking about it.
Do you say flinged in English? Well you do now.
Omg their table, it’s THEIR table, ah they’re so cute I’m gonna die already
I had to search up the name for coasters and there came up like four different names before coasters and I was like ‘I have never in my life seen or heard that word’
Okay so I might have had a bit much tea, brain is going brrrrrrr and the words are not sentencing
Wooden is in fact spelled with two o’s not two d’s, great that I know this
Do not ask what was in the jar. It could’ve been human fingers for all I know
I am not going to use the word ravenette. I refuse.
