Work Text:

"What exactly makes you think I would appreciate your childish business?”Teased Alastor, his tone was as cold as a metallic dagger, slicing Vox’s heart apart. For a split moment,Vox was rooted to the spot, initially felt being douse by a bucket of icy water, then huge waves of despondence and rage flooded in every corner and crevice of whole body. How dare that old-timely prick say these words? They used to be friends and partners, and now those blessed days had left them behind.

“THAT’S NOT CHILDISH!”

Almost roaring to Alastor,Vox could sense his screen glitched several times, causing rainbow-coloured strips sparkling intermittently.Impatiently murmured the static sound was the deer demon who already had his face veiled by a tinge of aggravation.Gone was the warm and cozy atmosphere in the pub, replaced now by scorching air filled with dancing electric current.Noticing the sudden change of the ambience, other sinners rushed out for their lives, resembling scattering bird flocks.

Maybe Vox had lost his marbles due to sudden shock,or it was the usual way how he handled such circumstance,he stepped forwards, managed to grab the sleeve of the Wendigo,so desperate, like a child who to salvage his most beloved toy.

“Please,just...”he implored.

“Unhand me.”

“No.”

“Take. It. Off.”Alastor reiterated.Shadows started coiling under his hooves akin to aggressive hounds that ready to tear everything apart.”I won’t repeat or I promise your screaming will be the most inspiring melody across the Pentagram City.”His crimson eyes turned into radio dials, ticking for Vox to hold back his hand.

A sudden thunderbolt broke the silence.Outside the deepening claret of sky stretched infinitely and droplets of rain started falling down, thrumming on windowsills.

Alastor’s patience was draining, right until its last drop was consumed,he yanked the fabric out,so hard that left the other one on floor. There was no trace of hesitation as he pivoted on his heels and pranced toward the exit. After walking a few steps,he sank in the shadows in the alley with a snap of fingers.

Myriad raindrops dashed down to this screeching land, which left scents of sulfur permeating the air.As the thunder once again rolling back and forth and flashing lightning swallowing the lone feeble candlelight,Vox hugged himself, drowning in enveloping darkness.
