    Summary

Backdropped by the cries of birds sent fleeing from their morning perches, with his gun still raised, stood Aaron Burr. Across from him stood a sight most unseemly to Burr; Alexander Hamilton, gun lowered-- smiling, wearily. Burr's hand trembled, looking upon his gun with bewilderment. He wished to aim again, to shoot again, and this time-- this time he would not miss just as he had every intention of doing the first time.

Title from one of the letters exchanged between Hamilton and Burr leading up to their infamous duel.
