Work Text:
Images flash through my mind
racing thoughts of your kind eyes, warm skin, and soft hair
dragged through a dusty plume from a room stained in your colors
Stripped from my grasp, I yearn for your light and engulfing gaze
begging to dissolve into your arms
and pleading to be torn limb by limb
until I’m nothing but a soul swallowed by your own
Diluted visions
water leaks upon the cold stage
like memories spilling through a sieve
melding into one mourning ocean
Amidst the falling sky
your voice weeps of sorrowful malady
rippling through the clouding air
and covering my skin in thorny tar
It is delicate, rich, and painfully familiar
personal
Your leering stare and broken words paralyze
Struck by a woeful weight
your words fail to make sense
yet resound with painful truth
foreboding implications
And in one rapid, concussive wave
I'm violently submerged beneath festering confusion
Your forceful lips on mine
relentlessly prohibiting retreat
until gripping fingers find my throat
Constricted
I surrender to the fading sky
ready to fall
but ceased by invasive ringing
A rush of air
quick to escape at the picture
of your blood-stained smile
falling
filtering through paralyzed fingers
collapsing into a crimson mirror
Stolen breath
stretching seconds
A flooding, encompassing flame of ache
and a pitiful realization of a hemmorrhaging heart
One that came too late
