Wei Ying is a billionaire.
He can do everything he wants, fantastic!
He has no idea what he can do.
He's been officially a billionaire for forty-five minutes... He hasn't figured it all out yet...
So, for context, he has been known as a certified billionaire since a week ago. The week when Jiang Fengmian and Mme Yu had gotten in a stupid car accident and both of them felt into comas.
Lan Wangi and his own lawyer have announced him just 45 minutes ago.
Lan Nao is an old lawyer with a sharp mind but he, himself, asked Lan Zhan's help to disclose the entirety of the truth.
Wei Ying might be a still little bit in shock right now: he's been informed to have the billionaire status since he was 13 in reality!
His "adoptive parents" had lied to him all this time...
When they began to sell his multiples inventions under the Jiang company's name they were too stupid to register the patterns by themselves. Because they literally were too stupid to demonstrate what he had created, they couldn't follow his thought’s process enough to be credible in front the comity which delivers them.
In fine, he had to be the one doing the presentation and had all his creations recorded under his “Wei Wuxian” name as he hadn't been really adopted.
Mme Yu strictly opposed to it.
But they constantly assured him they were loosing a lot of money over the production of his creations, they were only indulging him as he asked them to do it to help the poor people he cared some much about.
Sure, big companies were buying his crops talismans to grow more food that they sold at a lower price so there was not really money to make from it.
His arrays helped the wealthy to protect their numerous people again resentful creatures, but they bought a lot at a very low price as it didn't make any direc revenue for them.
And it was the case with every item they helped him to put into the market. The Jiangs made him understand that they were in a dire spot on the financial aspect, reason why his own pay was the equal of an entry paying job, out of their generosity!
Today Wei Wuxian recognise that he has been a utterly fucking moron!
They received billions in sells, the profit was spectacular from the first year...
He has been informed that they had signed a contract which obligated him to perform enough to provided them a million per year to be divided between the four of them.
But the company made billions!
Their solution has been to place all the benefices, without his knowledge, into interest-bearing accounts...as they couldn't have a share of his money without his explicit consent. He was a minor at the time.
He had not been present when those accounts were set up as he had trust them, they were his family and from a long reputable business lineae.
They had lived since on the interest made by those accounts, they set them up to be send directly to theirs annually.
This was the only part they could have access to.
They owe him hundreds of millions...
As of now, no-one knows if they’re going to survive or how long they are going to stay in their comas.
This is the reason, he has been asked to oversee the financial quarter of the Jiang Company. He doesn't have a nice title or pay but he overviews mostly everything on a daily basis, except the finances until this eventful week.
Enter Lan Wangi who's the Lan's CFO and a very long time friend of his. Who may also have tried to make him notice the discrepancy between his status and the Jiangs for years.
Upon seeing the Jiang company's finances, Lan Wangi fired the entire department in the second day and made Wei Ying took some trust worthy accountants and whatever clercs, to clear the mud and undercover their illegal activities.
This is when Lan Nao was recommended by the Lan clan to Wei Ying.
Which was very fortunate because, brace yourself, it got worst!
The Jiangs might get out of their comas alive, or not, there are no guaranty for the both of them at this point.
You would suspect all the children would come together and help each other in their grief...
How naïve of you!

The first offender has been Jiang Yanli, she sent a marriage proposal on the third day after the accident.
During all his childhood, Wei Wuxian had to refer to her as Miss Jiang when they met, which was a few time a year. He was never allowed to call her Jiejie, even if every-one told him "he was like a son to the Jiangs and a brother to their blood children".
This, this is the base on which she made her claim. He had not been authorised this familiarity because he was to be his husband in their shared future...
Clearly, he had missed the memo as she was still betrothed to the Jin heir until the week before...
Lan Nao just forward her proposal with the marriage contract straight to Jin Zixuan and his father via email.
The result has been all over the news, it would have been hilarious if it didn't concern him. She had to apologise publicly to all of the unwilling participants and been told on live TV by the Jin heir he had to thank her for this opportunity to revoke their long engagement, he had no idea how to do it by himself. Jin Guanshang made disgraceful remarks on her parents' education and stressed multiple times that they should have tied him up to her family via a real adoption if they weren't so prejudiced against orphan of unknown origin...
He also offered his own son to be wed to him or any other member of his clan, which: EW!
But logic with the man's psyche.
In conclusion, Lan Nao put a restricting order in motion against Jiang Yanli, after she was caught sneaking in Wei Ying's chamber at night, probably to take compromising pictures of the both of them. It was rapidly granted, for life.
Then there is her infamous brother, the Jiang Wanying.
His angle was completely different. Way more egregious.
He has accused Wei Wuxian to be responsible of his parents' accident, explaining that the car they crashed in was bought with the money they took from him.
Bold no?
He called Wei Wuxian directly and order him to give a payment of one billion in reparations, expecting it in seventy-two hours maximum before he brought a formal complaint to the court.
Jiang Wanying informed him in the same manner that he will inherited his father's position immediately, meaning being CEO without doing any real work.
Like his father, even the financial department was piloted by the former CFO, completely.
Wei Wuxian was the active CEO of the company, which should be called Wei and not Jiang by the way. This explained why he was able to have his closed friends discover all of the Jiang's lies so quickly after they were left unabled for such a short time.
He had all the power to do so.
He never did: he was too loyal and trust them entirely.
The Lan lawyer had the quickest response to these outrageous demands, and in the light of the sister's actions, he made a public statement announcing to not believe any information coming from the Jiang family. He hinted heavily on the multiples frauds and abuses the Jiangs had committed towards Wei Wuxian. Insisting there would be repercussions on the children and the parents if they were to make it out of their comas.
So, it's been fifty minutes since he is a billionaire now and all his problems are going to be solved by the accounting teams and the flocks of lawyers added to his own group.
There are going to be multiple trials, and changes will to be made within his company but all of which is okay for him.
This is not what he is scared the shit out of!
No the real deal is Lan Zhan.
The Lan beauty has been by his side as a friend since their last college year. It's been a while.
They are as closed to each other as closed friends can be.
But before, he hadn't enough money to entertain the idea to date the marvellous creature and now...he has way too much of it!
He scared to cover his magnificent Lan in sumptuous gifts and made him the laugh stock of their society, branding him as a male gold digger, even if the Lan family is a very wealthy one.
Or, they could argue he is trying to buy respectability by buying himself a Lan from the inner circle...
Their society is pretty unforgiving.
Also, he tries to think on how to make a clear statement without being perceived as a creep, or too pushy.
His own Lan certified lawyer might not have helped in this matter: he answered his questioning, as a close member of his beloved family, with a long lecture about the importance of a prenup between two powerful men.
All he asked was how to propose a date to the man he's irremediably in love with.
Not to propose marriage, not yet. Or pick their children names, even if he has a few ideas of his own...
In the end, he is left with this major crisis on top of everything with the man of his dream right by his side.
Said man he's doing his best for him to be able to handle his job, the multiples treasons that had struck him this past few hours and, his daily necessities like drinking, eating, resting properly.
And his mental state.
By hour sixty, he finds himself in the conference press room, his heart is beating way too fast beside Lan Zhan.
He can't help but admire his stance and composure, his dedication and kindness, his beauty and grace.
He has to act.
He is a billionaire for sixty hours up to now, he can do everything he wants but he has no idea what he can do.
He's desperate.
There are questions asked, answers given, flashes all around and, the stomp in his heart becomes louder each passing seconds.
A little sheet of paper is sliding on his lectern with the words “What troubles Wei Ying?” written with all the usual elegance Lan Zhan is capable of.
He knows what he has to do now.
He knows his marvellous Lan has only his best interest in mind for years.
Honesty this is his only choice for all the love and care he has been showered with.
Wei Ying fells on his knees and pleads: ”Please love me...” his voice is heard in all the press room, there is no doubt to whom he's asking the question to as he face Lan Zhan.
There is an abrupt silence that allowed all the journalists to be witnesses of the sincere answer given by the recipient.
The Lan is on his knees too, one hand on Wei Wuxian's face, the other caught the joined hands.
A clear “Mn!” and a brilliant smiling nod.
Maybe clapping erupted spontaneously, Wei Ying doesn't know.
He didn't hear anything after: "Mn!"
He's a billionaire, he can do everything he wants.
But he has already everything he wished for.
