   Olympia had a sombre allure, and men liked to imagine themselves her saviours, to fantasise about rescuing this winsome girl and earning her love and adoration. Olympia was a sloe-eyed beauty with long, dark hair falling in soft waves down her slender back or piled high on her pretty head in the newest fashion, a red rosebud mouth, high cheekbones, and a gracile figure.
