“No one comes in here during fourth period.”
Sasha stated, picking at the black polish adorning his nails. Anton hovered nearby, smiling softly before sliding into the seat beside the white-haired boy.
Sasha immediately forgot about the onslaught of his nails, turning towards Anton with a smirk.
“What?” Anton asked lightly, his smile still lingering when he turned to face Sasha.
“Hmm, nothing.” The boy replied airily, his tone mock casual. He feigned an innocent expression, resting his chin atop the fist of his hand, eyes still glued to Anton.
Anton rolled his eyes but there was no malice behind it.
“You always say that” He smiled fondly, gently nudging Sasha's leg under the table
“So cruel, tosha..” he remarked, faking a look of hurt.
Anton laughed lightly, stretching his legs out under the desk before a sudden wave of tiredness hit him, he yawned, turning back towards Sasha expectantly.
That light smirk from earlier danced on the boy's lips before he opened his mouth to speak.
“Antonnnnn~ of course you must've stayed up all night watching porn websites, hm? Is that why you're so tired, Tosha?” he joked, his smile widening as a raspy laugh escaped his lips.
“Sasha!! Nooo, hahaha” Anton laughed along with him, playfully swatting him on the shoulder.
The boys were happily giggling alongside each other when a sudden shout from the corridor outside snapped Sasha’s attention towards the window, stilling both of their laughter. Anton followed suit, turning around towards where the sound had come from, a look of confusion evident on his face.
Without warning Sasha suddenly grasped the shorter boy's hand, taking him by surprise as he was quietly led towards the window. Sasha ducked down and put a finger up to his lips in a shushing motion.
A beat of silence passed between them before the clicking of heels could be heard pacing down the corridor. The jingling of keys- or perhaps a land-yard- informed them that it was indeed a teacher passing by. The boys looked at each other, a serious look on Sasha’s face and a susceptible one on Anton's. Another moment passed before the footsteps faded away and the only sound that could be heard was their own breathing.
They both stared at each other in silence before erupting into a -more subtle- fit of laughter. They could only hope the teacher was too far away to hear them. Sasha gently unwound his hand from the brown haired boy's scolding him lightheartedly.
“Anton! You almost got us caught with your loud guffawing!” Sasha whisper-shouted, still laughing softly, but not loud enough to alert any more teachers, he hoped.
“Hey! I wasn't ‘guffawing.’” Anton protested, but the smile on his face gave away how he was actually feeling.
“Hmm, I beg to differ.” Sasha smirked resting his head against the wall, making no move to stand up.
“Hey, the floors dirty! c'mon get back up.” Anton suddenly accused.
“ahhhh, but it's comfortable here.” Sasha whined, slipping further down the wall.
Anton could practically see the white paint chipping off in real time, but after a moment of hesitation, he gave in with a defeated sigh, slowly sliding down beside the boy.
All he got in response was a smug look. That appeared to be Sasha's default face.
“I thought you were tired?” Sasha teased after a moment of silence.
Anton simply hummed in response letting his eyes slip shut as his head fell back against the wall.
Sasha glanced at him sideways, noting the way Antonsha’s lips were slightly parted as his chest steadily rose and fell.
Sasha's expression morphed into one of seriousness, his gaze falling and his lips turning into a soft frown. It was times like these he wished he could be with Antonsha the most, a stupid dream he told himself he shouldn't be chasing. It was better this way, but it didn't stop the aching feeling in his chest, wanting to be in Anton's arms, feeling his lips against his, it hurt.
Lost in his own thoughts, he almost didn't notice the sudden weight being applied to his shoulder. He looked back towards where Anton had been sitting and saw a mass of fluffy brown hair accumulated on his shoulder.
Guess he really was tired, Sasha thought to himself, gently shifting into a more comfortable position. He didn't want Antosha to be tired all day, and, he didn't mind being used as a pillow for another half hour if it was for him.
So, he let his head rest against Anton's mass of hair, his eyes nearly shutting but staying open just enough not to fall asleep. Lest he risk Anton getting in trouble for skipping with him if he missed the bell ringing.
Sasha swallowed hard, suddenly a lot more aware of the boy sleeping on his shoulder. This was enough, he told himself. Even if Tosha never knew his true feelings, he was content with just being close, right? he didn't need more, he gently told himself.
It was annoying that his heart kept whispering otherwise, but he buried the feeling somewhere deep in his subconscious, focusing instead on the soft hair beneath where he was resting his head . This was enough.
