Summary
The Charlie Weasley story you didn't know you needed, giving the most overlooked Weasley a full backstory, a queer love life and a fresh future. This will be a long fic (at least 400k words).
Starting at the Battle of Hogwarts, we follow Charlie as he navigates grief with his family and processes the traumas of war. Charlie's work for the Order has taken a toll on him and he's lost his passion for working with dragons. He moves back home after the battle to be with his family, but his mind is elsewhere. Max Erding has been missing since the start of the war and Charlie is desperate to find out what's happened to him.
As Charlie searches for Max and a new purpose in life, his experience with dangerous creatures and fighting dark wizards proves to be unexpectedly useful...
We follow Charlie from May 1998 – December 2000, with lots of flashbacks into his past along the way, ending with an update in 2005. Things start slow and sad in the aftermath of the battle, but it's not all bleak – there is silliness and suffering in equal measure.
This fic is canon compliant with the main 7 HP books only (not movies, games or online content), but is mostly post-canon.
