“Why do I have to be there too?” Sieun asked, confused. “It’s just a stupid hangout, you know I don't enjoy these kinds of things if there's a bunch of people.”
Suho chuckled, knowing he'd say that already. “Come on, you always only hang out with me, study alone or only hang out with less than 3 people, like some anti-social freak. What's so bad about a mere hangout? Having more friends won't hurt you!”, stated Suho playfully, with a grin on his face. Sieun knew he was up to no good.
“You’re so annoying, you know that?”, Sieun sighed. “Only under one condition will I go to your stupid hangout.” Sieun looked at Suho seriously, not that he doesn't always look at him that way.
“Yes, darling?~”, Suho teased. Sieun was glaring at him, as though he'd punch holes through his face. “Stop calling me that, you asshole. You know what? Forget about it.”, mumbled Sieun, thinking about leaving.
“Wait, don't go! I'm sorry, please tell me your condition.”, exclaimed Suho, hoping he'd actually convince him to come.
“Idiot..”, rambled Sieun under his voice. “If I want to leave, you won't do anything about it, understand?”, Sieun added.
What Sieun declared was something hard to get through Suho’s thick skull. He just nodded to get over it and smiled bubbly at him. “Of course! Don't you worry, my dear Sieun, I'll do exactly as you say.”
This clear statement could only mean to Sieun, that Suho didn't in fact understand a thing he just said and ignored him completely. He sighed annoyed, as Suho was radiating sunshines and rainbows around him.
…
The two of them eventually went and also arrived at said hangout. In Suho’s opinion, he wouldn't have minded more people, but for Sieun it was annoying with all these people around him. Of course, he remained calm by Suho’s side.
They were all at Suho’s place, since no one else volunteered to host the hangout at their own place. Yeongi was sitting on the couch, chewing gum while scrolling on her phone, gossiping with some friends she brought, Hyuna, Sooah,Yuri and Jiwon. Beomseok was staying awkwardly on the couch, him being there only because he knew Suho would be there too. Humin and Gotak were already drinking beer, laughing at some stupid jokes and Juntae standing next to them, laughing at said ‘jokes’.
As Sieun also sat down on the couch, trying to avoid eye contact with people, he questioned why on earth did Suho gather all these people just for a hangout. Everyone was different from each other, but as the saying goes, opposites attract.
Suho stands in front of everyone and clears his throat. “Well then, shall we start playing games?” he said, a smirk appearing on his face.
Humin chugged his beer and chuckled. “Alright! Game on.”, his voice already giving a hint of being tipsy. Gotak also gulped down his beer and nodded with a drunken smile on his face.
Beomseok nodded with a graceless smile on his face, beginning to rethink his life choices, Juntae also fearing the games they'll be playing, hoping it won't be something too hard to do.
Yeongi finally put her phone down and exclaimed with joy, along with the other girls who were giggling and excited to see what'll happen next.
…
They all gathered in a circle, waiting for Suho to come back with some prop he said they'll be using. Sieun thought of a round of truth or dare, since why else would a prop be involved?
Suho got back with a plastic bottle and sat next to Yeongi, where he was also right in front of Sieun. Of course, Sieun didn't think much of that, he'd be able to give him truths or dares easily this way.
As they all got comfortable on the floor, Suho put the bottle in the middle of the circle, ready to spin it.
Jiwon, a fierce and ready for any dare kind of girl, finally got to speak to everyone and suggest a rather interesting idea: a game of ‘7 minutes in heaven’.
Sooah, almost squealed with joy, along with Yuri who already had eyes for someone. Hyuna didn't mind the idea as well and Yeongi looked at her dear friend proudly.
The tipsy best friends didn't have a care in the world, so they naturally agreed and Suho also found this a great and fun activity.
Beomseok nodded nonchalantly, hoping to actually get to kiss a girl, as for Juntae, he just stood there confused.
On the other hand, Sieun had no interest in such a game. Let alone staying in a cramped space with someone he didn't like.
“No thank you, I'm out.”, said Sieun indifferent, ready to stand up and excuse himself to the bathroom, but suddenly Suho grabbed his hand rapidly.
“Come on, Sieun. Just stay for a bit, no one will bite you.”, Suho tried convincing Sieun yet again to not go away.
…
After a few minutes, the game began, Sieun praying to anything to not make him get in a closet alongside some weirdo.
Suho spinned the bottle and everyone was watching closely, tension dancing in the air around the group of teenagers.
At last, Jiwon was partnered up with Gotak to go and spend their ‘7 minutes in heaven’. Gotak smiled, not even realizing what's happening. Jiwon took him along in a closet, as Suho put a timer of 7 minutes on his phone.
3 minutes in, everyone else was thinking about what could possibly happen in that closet. Yeongi chuckled at Suho and Humin’s betting of who reached in to kiss first or who'll fall for the other first. All this talk made Sieun tired. — who'd bet on such stupid shit? Why is this game even a thing…
…
4 minutes later, Suho’s alarm finally went off. Ultimately, the group decided on poor Juntae to go and check on them.
After Juntae’s adventure to the ‘horny headquarters’, apparently Gotak was so drunk after 5 beers, he fell asleep right after just a kiss with Jiwon. She was clearly pissed and even slapped him to wake him up.
“Ugh, you bastard!”, shouted Jiwon as she got out of the cramped place, Gotak smiling bubbly and giggling to himself. Juntae helped him up and almost tripped while trying to make him stand. Finally, Humin, sobered up, took him from Juntae to the couch.
…
Gotak was out of the game, sleeping on the couch, except for everyone else who was placed in the circle that surrounded the plastic bottle. Juntae excused himself, saying he had something to do and got out of Suho’s place, just to get out of this painfully awkward game.
Suho, smiling playfully, suggested another round. “Alright then, shall we spin again?”
Hyuna whispered with Yuri on who they'd hope to get with, Humin day dreaming to kiss any of those girls and Beomseok trying his best to act nonchalantly around the others.
Suho finally turned the bottle and began spinning it. Another round of commotion in the air, as the group of people waited to see who'd be going in the closet again.
The bottle slowly stopped. — Wait a minute… why is it towards me? — Sieun wondered to himself.
Suho looked up from the bottle, smiling even more spirited than before. Sieun was partnered up with him.
Everyone looked at them, Yeongi smirking. “Alright then, off you two go!”, spoke Yeongi to them, standing up with them and leading them to the closet.
Sieun insisted on not going, this all being a mistake, but Yeongi persuaded even harder, that after all, it's just a game.
Suho sat on the left side of the closet, as Sieun stepped into the right side. Yeongi closed the doors, giggling a bit and going back to the others to put on a timer of 7 minutes.
The closet was dark, the two barely even seeing each others faces, but it was enough light to notice their glances.
Suho looked into Sieun's avoidant eyes, not breaking his stare. Sieun felt his gaze, but tried to ignore it. His heart was beating weirdly a bit faster than usual.
“C-can you stop staring at me like that..?”, Sieun voiced quietly, embarrassment creeping under his skin. What was he feeling, that made him this … way?
“Staring at you like what?” Suho spoke calmly, his heart also beating fast. “Dont avoid my stare.”
Suho pulled Sieun by his hoodie a bit closer, them being only a couple centimeters away from each other, enough to see their faces.
Sieun finally looked into Suho's gaze with his innocent, confused doe eyes.
They watched each other's eyes for a bit before Suho decided to utter something again. “So? Do you think you're up to do it?”
“W-What do you.. mean by it?” Sieun asked, as if he didn't know. He never kissed anyone before, let alone his best friend… who's also a guy, not that it was something entirely wrong… kissing a guy. He never actually thought about it. Kissing a guy…
“Don’t act dumb, please…”, Suho said, a bit hurt. Their friendship meant everything to him. (Is this even a friendship though?)
“If you don't want to, just say so. Just dont…”, Suho paused, not knowing what to say anymore. “Just dont… make me feel more embarrassed than I already am–”, he paused again, being interrupted my Sieun this time.
Sieun pulled Suho's shirt eventually, losing his patience and closing the gap between them. Suho pulled away, looking at Sieun's face, admiring it like he always has.
Suho got back to kissing him, closing the gap between the two yet again, savoring each touch they had.
Sieun pulled away this time, panting. He looked into Suhos eyes, wondering what this would end up at. This was no simple kiss. Sieun never got to feel something this… powerful? No, pure. His friendship with Suho meant something for him. He didnt want to ruin it like this, but he knew deep down that Suho might also feel like this.
Sieun covered his face with his palms, trying to make his blush not visible to Suho. This felt great but also very awkward.
“Fuck, im so sorry. Wait but–”, Suho stopped talking, Sieun placing his palm onto his face. “Shut up, will you?” Sieun removed both palms and placed them both on Suho's head, grabbing him into another embrace before the alarm goes off.
…
The 7 minutes go by and Yeongi's alarm goes off. She then went to check what the guys would be doing, hoping for them to finally have unleashed their bottled up feelings for each other (which were super obvious for literally anyone with common sense).
She opens the door of the closet and sees both of the guys separated, like nothing ever happened. “So? Did you guys just sit here and do nothing?”, she asked curiously.
Neither of the guys would've actually admitted what happened and just said they talked a bit about school and that's that. Yeongi was a bit disappointed, but she couldn't do anything about it.
Sieun stepped out of the closet alongside Suho, as if nothing ever happened, which was convenient for Sieun. Ultimately, they got to the conclusion they'd talk about this later on after the hangout to figure… stuff out.
The three of them went back to the circle and ended up playing a couple more rounds of the game, Yuri ending up with Humin and Sooah with Beomseok, Yuri being the only one happy after the 7 minutes.
…
The hangout was finally over, some of them ending up tipsy. One by one, everyone left and now only Sieun and Suho were the only ones in the silent apartment.
“Hey, so about earlier…”, Suho decided to speak first. He was nervous, just like Sieun was, but wasn't entirely sure what he should say or do. “What happened back there, I assume didn't bother you? Well, um.. It didn't bother me though.”
Sieun chuckled a bit and kissed Suho for the last time that day. They both pulled away from each other and embraced each other again, as if time had stopped around them and nothing else mattered.
“We’ll figure it out. We’ll figure us out.”, Sieun spoke after pulling out of their kiss.
Suho began to giggle a bit, wanting to whisper something into Sieun's ear. “We’ll finger it out.” Suho laughed with tears at his awful joke, as Sieun lost his smile and the moment was ruined. “You and your stupid jokes.. I swear I'll punch you next time you ruin a moment like this.” Sieun threatened him.
Suho stopped and smiled softly while looking into Sieun's serious and grumpy gaze. “Hey, I'm sorry for that. Sorry for ruining your moment..”
“Our moment.” corrected Sieun, ignoring Suho's previous excuse of a joke. He reached out to him again and kissed him on the cheek, taking his hand to the hallway. “See you some other time, ok?”
“Yeah, yeah. I'll try to reduce the jokes. Goodnight, Sieun.”, Suho stated, still wanting to annoy Sieun even more.
“Goodnight, Suho.”, Sieun responded, looking at his eyes one last time before leaving Suho's place.
The both of them were separated by Suho's door, Sieun leaving the building Suho was in and Suho still looking at the door, feeling as if what just happened was just a dream. That night, both of them realised their bottled up feelings. Their connection was more than just a friendship.
