Chapter Text
Alex knows Henry is meant to be his mate. Not in a friendly, British way, though. They are meant to be each other’s mates . As in romantically.
He’s known it since the moment they met in that conference where Henry snubbed him, the scent of Henry’s pheromones, covered by an expensive cologne Alex is sure he didn’t pick out himself, intoxicating to his Alpha brain, even if Henry’s repelling him like they’re magnets .
He didn’t care that Henry was an Omega (hence why he’s sure the cologne is more of a cover than a need, given his status), but he cared that Henry clearly smelled him and instead of ushering them to a private room to talk it over or at least acknowledging his existence, put a line through their names before they even began.
Sure, Alex isn’t exactly that entitled to feel angst about it, as his parents were also meant to be mates and had gotten a dissolution when Alex was barely a teenager - but he’s allowed to feel some type of way about it. It just isn’t fair.
It just isn’t fair.
