Work Text:
Truthfully, she didn't want to think about what she saw. None of it made any sense. And yet somehow it still happened. It had been an hour after the bridge leading Presage paper to their retreat had somehow collapsed. The strangest thing was that Olivia knew it'd happen. She'd had some sort of vision beforehand, of the cement crumbling, the cars falling, and everyone dying. She's now here, tapping her nails against the chair she was sitting on. Olivia heard footsteps but couldn't discern who'd they'd came from. She'd lost her glasses in the collapse, which was now probably the least of her worries. The person had, thankfully enough, sat down right next to her. It was her co-worker, Molly.
"What'd you tell them?" Molly asked bluntly. Olivia sighed, rubbing the bridge of her nose as a force of habit.
"I couldn't explain it all that well to him. " She explained, "I just told him what I saw, but I guarantee he doesn't believe a word of it." Olivia paused for a moment. "What'd he ask you?" Molly turned to face her before answering.
"Not much really. Just asked me about you. And the others. At least it's finally over." Olivia nodded in agreement. Thankfully she didn't have anything due on her calendar until Sunday. She heard another set of footsteps, this time heavier ones. The voice of Agent Block spoke to her and Molly, letting out a slight grunt.
"Looks like you two are free to go. I'll contact you if anything happens." Olivia nodded and got up, holding a hand out to Molly in order to steady herself.
"Thanks. Looks like things are gonna be a bit difficult to manage in terms of getting home." She jabbed, letting a smirk crawl across her face.
"How about I drive you?" Molly offered.
"Really?" Truthfully her and Molly didn't interact that much outside of work, and this came as a slight surprise to Olivia. But at the same time, Molly was always the considerate kind like that.
"It's the least I could do." Molly grinned, gripping onto Olivia's hand a little tighter. The two headed out to Molly's car, getting inside with little difficulty.
"Your apartment not far from here?" Molly asked.
"Yeah, just down about two blocks down and down a left. Can't miss it." She informed. Molly nodded and started the car, keeping the radio at a quieted volume.
"You wanna know something?" Olivia asked after about a minute. "I keep thinking about that vision I had."
"What about it?"
"Well it just..it felt so real. Way too real. I remember everything…Candice falling. The bus falling under, you, Sam, Peter, everyone. And then me." Olivia shuddered at the memory.
"At least it's over now," Molly shrugged. Olivia had to give her that at least. They were almost to Olivia's apartment. While she couldn't make it out well, she still could distinguish a few familiar shapes in the distance.
"Turn at this light." She instructed, leaning closer to Molly. The blonde nodded, turning the wheel at the right time. The car slowed at a complex before eventually stopping.
"I suppose you'll need help with coming inside, as well?" Molly asked. Olivia flashed her one of those sarcastic smiles she always knew how to deliver.
"You know me so well." Olivia joked, unbuckling her seat belt and exiting Molly's car. She held onto Molly's arm, trying to keep her boots in cadence with Molly's footsteps. That was when she noticed Molly looking somewhat distant. The two got inside and headed into the elevator, thankfully, alone.
"Hey, are you doing alright?" Olivia asked Molly, nudging her slightly. "You have been awful quiet today." Molly shook from her silence a little, biting her lip. "Uh...no. Not really. It's-it's about Sam." Olivia turned away from her, brows furrowing slightly. Olivia was quite literally one of the last people you'd want to go to if you had boy problems. Truthfully, being the only closeted sapphic in an office does a lot on your self-esteem. Olivia couldn't even imagine what somebody like Candice would do with that kind of information. Presage didn't really have rules against queer people like her, but there was certainly an agenda. To say the least. The elevator stopped, arriving right at her floor. Right before the doors opened, Olivia saw something strange in the floor indicator. She could've sworn that instead of saying "F3", the light flickered and said "13" Odd. It hadn't done that in the past before. She assumed it was her bad vision that was making her see it, but at the same time she just couldn't shake the feeling.
"Are you coming?" Molly asked. Olivia finally snapped out of her half-daze and stepped out, headed down the hall towards her room.
"My room's A-20. Just down the upcoming split." Olivia told her. Molly took note of this and stopped in the middle of the split, unsure of whether to go left or right.
"I'll be fine here. I've got a backup pair inside," Olivia said. "See you tomorrow?" Molly smiled at this. "Of course you will." Olivia made her way over to the left side of the split, where she could she A-20 clearly. She heard Molly walk off while she was grabbing her room key, away from her field of vision. Right before she went, she heard Molly call out one last time.
"Good night, Livvy." Did Molly just call her 'Livvy'? It wasn't a nickname she wasn't opposed against. But she didn't quite understand why Molly used that instead of what she normally used. Regardless, Olivia turned her key and headed inside her flat.
