Chapter Text
The girl skipped through the woods along familiar paths, singing to herself as she went.
“One, two, buckle my shoe, three, four, shut the door, five, six, pick up sticks…”
She stopped, seeing some very nice sticks laying on the ground in front of her.
“What are you doing?” a boy asked.
The girl screamed, throwing the sticks in his direction. The boy jumped out of the way.
“I didn’t mean to startle you,” he said.
“Sorry I threw the sticks at you, I’m not used to seeing people here. Are you lost?”
“Lost?” he repeated. “Um, no, I’m not.”
