Work Text:

The chaos in Dressrosa had begun to fade. From the top of a ledge, Law watched as the Marines handcuffed Doflamingo—defeated and humiliated. The former Warlord of the Sea, once so imposing, was now just a shadow dragged away by justice.

Law said nothing. He didn’t smile. He simply closed his eyes.

“Cora-san… we did it.”

The echo of gunshots in Minion still lived in his memory. The heat of the flames, the muffled scream of the man who saved him... it all remained as vivid as the first day.

“You protected me. You taught me to laugh, to have faith. And you gave me a purpose when everything was darkness. Today, that purpose has been fulfilled.”

The breeze ruffled his coat. Beside him, Luffy laughed, unaware of the storm within him.

“I couldn’t save you. But… I was able to stop him. Your brother won’t hurt anyone anymore.”

A seagull flew across the clear sky. Law looked up, as if expecting to see that tall, clumsy figure wrapped in feathers and smoke.

“Thank you, Cora-san. Wherever you are… I hope you can rest now.”

And for the first time in years, Law felt that his heart, though wounded, beat in peace.
