Chapter Text
it's quiet
the only sounds heard is the ticking from the grandfather clock, and the sounds of rain hitting the roof.
sunny lays on his bed, staring at the ceiling. it's one of those nights again. one of those nights where he can't sleep.
he's had trouble sleeping sometimes ever since... it happened..
sunny wishes he could sleep. that he could drift off to that wonderful place in his mind where nothing bad happens. but he can't.
this is the 3rd time he hasn't gotten to sleep. and that's just this week alone
his stomach grumbles.
sunny decides to get something to eat. he's still awake, and he's obviously not going to sleep any time soon, so he might as well.
he sits up, and gets out of bed.
he makes his way out of his room, grabbing his phone on the way out.
sunny heads towards the stairs, and begins descending down them. each step creaking under his feet.
as sunny goes down the stairs, he starts to panic.. the staircase seems to get longer and longer, almost becoming infinite.
everything around him turns black. he feels like a thousand eyes are watching his every move.
sunny begins to hyperventilate, slowly becoming more terrified as he descends.
and then.. it stops. he's at the bottom. the stairs are normal.. it was just a hallucination.. probably from how little sleep he's been getting.
sunny exhales, glad that it was all just a bad daydream.
he walks over to the kitchen, and begins rummaging through the fridge for something to eat.
he finds some leftover lasagna, and decides to eat that. so he puts it in the microwave.
as the lasagna heats up in the microwave, sunny decides to check his phone. and to his surprise, he has a voicemail.
sunny plays the voicemail, curious on who it's from. and the voice he hears surprises him.
it's Mari.
Mari: "hi, sunny! I tried to call you but you didn't answer. I just wanted to let you know that I'll be back from collage in afew days! I can't wait to see you. love you!"
sunny is conflicted. on one hand, he's happy he'll be able to see his big sister again. but on the other, he's afraid that he might accidentally...
he's suddenly pulled out of his train of thought, as the microwave let out a loud *BEEP* to signal it was done. sunny quickly opens it and grabs his lasagna, hoping that his parents weren't woken up.
sunny goes to the living room. sitting down on the couch and grabbing the TV remote. he just turns on whatever, eventually settling on a movie about 4 guys catching ghosts or something.
he sits, watching the movie and eating his lasagna.
eventually, sunny passes out. half eaten lasagna on his lap, and a movie still going.
