    Hundreds of years ago, most people were born with abilities. These abilities allowed them to bend one of the four elements. However, one person in every generation is born with the special ability to bend all four elements. That person is called the Avatar, and their job is to bring peace and balance to the world.

    While most people have these abilities, not everyone is born a bender. At one time benders lived amongst non-benders in peace and harmony. But over time, a lot of the non-benders felt threatened by benders. So, they banded together and successfully wiped out all the benders, including the Avatar…or so they thought.

    A small group of benders survived the attack. All the benders decided to keep their bending abilities a secret and live amongst the non-benders. And through the years, they successfully kept their bending abilities a secret. Waiting for the day when the Avatar returns and they no longer have to live in fear.

    And that time has finally come…
