Work Text:
Azula hums to herself, counting her fire nation dollars and thinking about what to buy her friends at the market.
Maybe a deck of dark blue playing cards and pink leather gloves. Earlier, Mai had complained about her old cards getting torn up, while Ty Lee bemoaned her hands getting scratched while trying to climb some stupid old tree. They were due some special treatment for their miniscule sufferings.
Lost in thought, she stumbles and nearly falls over some strange purple roadblock in her way.
When she sees it's some sort of short child-like human, she snaps, "Don't you know who I am?"
"Beautiful." he answers, gazing up at her in reverence, "I'm Mineta. Wouldn't you mind telling me your name?"
Uncomfortable, she dusts herself off. Then she blasts him with a wave of blue fire, killing him instantly.
Azula turns away, huffing under her breath, "I need to wash these pants. They have filth stains."
Looking around her, she realises she has no idea what territory she's in. She scowls.
"I was right to kill you. Who knows where I am because of you?"
At the rude lack of response from the scorched concrete, she turns on her heel and walks away, looking for familiar landmarks.
