Work Text:
Mr. Kirby was struggling a bit with all the new changes in his life.
He'd grown very comfortable in the routine of his traditional work life. Sure, it didn't exactly make him happy, but it gave him structure.
Now that he was giving that up for the sake of personal fulfillment, he was having a hard time.
Structure and routine had always been very important to him. Whenever things didn't go according to plan, he would get stressed out and end up having these rather embarrassing outbursts.
Mr. Vanderhof noticed the man sitting on the couch, his fingers against his temples like he had a headache, and he hobbled over to sit by him, though kept a safe distance so as to not make him feel crowded.
"Would you like to talk about it?" Martin asked simply, setting his cane down against the couch and leaning back contentedly. Mr. Kirby looked over at him in surprise.
"Oh, uh, my apologies" he said, trying to maintain a level of elegance, as if he wasn't stressed out of his mind. "I suppose I am just feeling a bit lost without the structure of Wall Street"
"Well, what if I were to write you out a daily schedule?" Martin offered. "We typically have our meals at the same time each day anyway, so that could easily be arranged"
"You are... Very kind, Mr. Vanderhof" Anthony praised. "That would be quite appreciated"
"Good" the old man smiled. "I'll get that to you within the next day"
"Thank you"
"No worries"
