A freckled face smiled warmly at Katsuki as he was handed a small bundle. Did—Deku just gave him a fucking baby, didn’t he. Fucker was gonna pay for—
Katsuki looked down at the goblin now in his arms. The tiny fucker looked back at him brightly, round face split wide in a smile, and Katsuki swore he could feel his anger melt away.
“What the fuck?” he demanded, eyes snapping back to Deku’s. “Why—what the fuck is this, Deku?”
“A baby,” the nerd stated simply.
Katsuki looked back at the bundle, and couldn’t help but let his face soften.
Just this once.
Shouto backed away from Izuku’s outstretched arms.
“Cmon, Shouto, just for a minute!” the freckled boy insisted.
Shouto shook his head. “No, I can’t, I—I don’t—” He broke off. “I don’t wanna hurt them.”
Izuku tilted his head as if confused, before nodding in understanding. “Okay. What if I stay right next to you, and take them back if you accidentally use your quirk?”
“I—” Shouto’s voice cracked. “Y-yeah. Okay. I can… I can do that.”
“Kirishima, I thought you were better than this!” Denki was wailing. Eijirou looked at him, and then at the baby Midoriya had insisted he hold.
He tried to defend himself. “Hey, this is my first time touching a baby! How am I supposed to hold them??”
“Literally any other way!” Mina begged. “Here, please, let me—” She gently took the baby, maneuvering them so that Eijirou was cradling them in his arms. “There we go. Now, just, don’t move.”
Tenya stared menacingly at the baby currently in Midoriya’s arms.
“Iida-kun, why am I not surprised that you’re the one they’re afraid of?” Midoriya leveled Tenya with an unimpressed stare.
“W-well! I have never interacted with an infant in my life!” Tenya explained, arm waving through the air. “Interacting with an infant is significantly different from interacting with my peers or superiors!”
“At least he’s better than Kiri,” Sero offered.
Midoriya sighed. “Fair enough. At least Iida-kun can properly hold the baby,” he stated, sending a pointed look in Kirishima’s direction.
Eijirou held eye contact with the baby that was once more in his arms. He could feel Midoriya watching him like a hawk, along with… everyone else in the common room.
“Why are we giving him a second chance again?” Uraraka asked.
“Yeah, shitty hair won’t have learned shit. Just—here, gimme—” Eijirou looked up as Katsuki started forward, seemingly to take the baby from him. Hanta was quick to hold back the blonde with his tape.
“Hey, I’ve got this!” Eijirou insisted. “Look, I’m doing great so far!” As he spoke, he shifted his hold on the baby so he was more comfortable. Unfortunately, this ended up causing the baby to slip out of his arms.
Denki screeched from his spot with the rest of their squad, and he dove forward as if he could catch the baby, but Midoriya was quick to send out Blackwhip, wrapping around the baby and bringing them back to his—okay, admittedly much safer—arms.
“Aaalright! And there goes Kirishima-kun’s baby privileges!” the freckled boy announced. Mina sighed dramatically in relief, Katsuki throwing an absolutely vicious glare at Eijirou, and the whole room visibly relaxed.
Tsu watched anxiously as Izuku handed the baby over to Japan’s Number One Hero Endeavor. Nearly all of UA had at least some dislike for the man, especially those close with any of the other Todorokis.
Glancing at her nearby classmates, she noted Iida’s disapproving expression, Kaminari’s twitchiness, and the complete lack of Bakugou. Shouto was eyeing his father closely, as well.
Tsu was very thankful for that in particular, as Endeavor promptly turned around and strode towards the door, baby still in his possession. Shouto took a step forwards, calling after him.
“Wait, dad!” he started. The Flame Hero paused in his movements, turning towards the rare attention from his youngest child.
“Yes, Shouto?” he answered, raising an eyebrow.
Tsu’s gaze flicked between the two, ready to spring forward to intervene if needed.
Shouto continued. “Can—can I hold them again?” He stumbled over his words, and Tsu recalled his nervousness when Izuku had given him the baby earlier.
“…Sure,” Endeavor replied slowly. He held out his arms, letting Shouto lift the baby and carefully hold them close to his chest.
Tsu watched in alarm as the boy suddenly started… melting? Two-toned hair turned to messy blonde, canines lengthening and body shrinking until Toga Himiko from the League of Villains stood in Class 1-A’s common room.
“I got ‘em!” she yelled as she ran to the door, baby still clutched to her chest. The room jumped into motion, five or so of Tsu’s classmates activating their quirks and starting towards the young villain. Endeavor whirled around to follow, eyes wide.
Before Tsu could make her own move, the door to the building opened, and Toga rushed out just before Dabi stepped inside.
“Heya, dad,” the scarred villain began, face split in a grin. “Nice try there, but we won’t let you get away with kidnapping and child abuse.” He held a hand out to the side, lighting it up with turquoise flames.
“I—wh—Touya,” Endeavor stammered. Now Tsu watching in fascination at the scene unfolding. The Flame Hero took a step back as Dabi approached, and Tsu moved to the side in time for Izuku to send out Blackwhip, to restrain—Endeavor, yeah, it would be Endeavor since he just attempted to kidnap a baby.
Tsu looked around the room, trying to process what just happened. Although apparently she wasn’t allowed to do that, since actual Shouto chose that moment to walk in, baby in his arms and Toga following behind him.
Shouto looked at his father with an unimpressed look on his face. He caught Izuku’s eye before talking. “I called Aizawa-sensei, he should be here soon. Please make sure my father goes to prison, he does not deserve to be a hero.” He turned to Dabi. “Thank you for your assistance. I look forward to seeing you again, nii-san.” Behind him, Endeavor spluttered out something unintelligible, but everyone ignored him.
“Now,” Shouto continued, “where did Bakugou go? He is best suited to keep the child, in my opinion.”
