“Moon sure is full today huh?” Kunigami viewed the night sky, a big, bright moon amid numerous stars and the darkness.
“It is. It’s so beautiful” Chigiri leaned back on the bench seats.
“How many dates have we been on now?” Kunigami asked out of curiosity. “I’m not sure, too many I guess, every single one was memorable that’s for sure”
Kunigami got up from the bench, moving around so that he was faced opposite of Chigiri.
He got down on one knee and took a deep breath. He rummaged through his pockets, pulling out a small, dark crimson box and opening it, displaying the tiny white diamond settled on gold.
“Chigiri, May I compare you to a summer’s day?
Though, you are more lovely and temperate-“
Kunigami’s speech was interrupted by a soft chuckle. He watched as Chigiri’s cheeks turned a delicate shade of red,
“Really?” Chigiri finally got out, Kunigami looked at Chigiri with confusion.
“That’s like one of the most famous love poems from Shakespeare. I thought you’d know that too” Chigiri huffed to himself.
“Uhh.. Well, it worked.. right?” Kunigami awkwardly asked.
“What do you think?” Chigiri smirked as he stood up from the bench, bending down to Kunigami’s level. He stared at his sharp amber eyes. They were never sharp to Chigiri, instead, soft and warm. It made Chigiri’s heart flutter even more.
”Is.. that a ye-” Chigiri’s hands grabbed Kunigami’s cheeks, pulling his lips to his. This kiss was slow and steady, creating a cozy atmosphere between them and the darkness made by the bright moon. The artificial lights from the park being the only thing accompanying them.
As they pulled away, Chigiri rested his hands on Kunigami’s shoulder.
“..so, is that a yes?” Kunigami asked. Chigiri laughed to himself again, resting his forehead on Kunigami’s.
“You really gonna ask that question? Just after I kissed you?”
“I mean, it could mean that..” Kunigami struggled to find his words. “Just put the ring on,” Chigiri held his hand out, brushing off Kunigami’s confused state.
Kunigami slid the ring on Chigiri’s finger, and Chigiri did the same. He admired the new ring that settled on his right hand, watching it glisten at every angle he turned against the moonlight.
“I thought it’d fit you well” Kunigami murmured, gazing at Chigiri himself. It wasn’t just about his luscious long red hair or his big sultry eyes, it was all of him. Kunigami blushed at the thought, marrying Chigiri and spending a lifetime with him, one of the greatest people he’s met is going to be by his side for eternity or so.
Chigiri got up from his feet, holding out his hand to Kunigami. The ring did in fact compliment Chigiri. “C’mon it’s getting a bit late for my fiance” Chigiri advised jokingly.
‘I’m never gonna get sick of that smile’ was Kunigami’s last thought before taking Chigiri by the hand and walking towards the tall city buildings and it’s colourful lights.
