Summary
The storm clouds darkened. Her heart rate picked up ever so slightly, and she struggled to hide the anxious trembling of her hands. Something felt horribly wrong. She could feel it in her gut.
Pink mist surrounded her as she crossed the street. Her limbs felt weak and heavy, her eyelids fluttered, and her vision grew hazy. Before she could stop herself, she sank to her knees on the sidewalk. Her thoughts grew fuzzier the longer she tried to think of a way out. Was this what had happened to all the other missing people? Was this how they were taken away?
The thought vanished as quickly as it came. The mist grew thicker, clouding her brain and weighing her limbs down even further, until she couldn’t keep herself upright, her body crumpling to the concrete.
A voice echoed in her head. “We’ll see you soon, little Bambi. Now Bambi sl-”
She was unconscious before she could stop herself.
