   Summary

   (Follows most of the main story but lots of extra details)

   Dusknoir was an agent on a mission to save his people. Reckless outlaws were threatening to commit mass genocide by manipulating time itself, and his master called on him to deal with it. He never questioned his orders until he met a crying human traveling alone.

   Later, a skittish Chimchar finds a wounded Treeko on the beach. A terrible head wound left her with no memories and unable to care for herself. Chimchar must now care for his adopted sister, work for the guild, and summon the courage to face whatever life throws at them.

   Meanwhile, Grovyle searches high and low for his best friend, still recovering from a vicious attack. He never saw the culprit, but Belle’s screams continued to echo in his mind. Everything has gone wrong… What was she about to say before the attack?

   Everyone has a role to play. Shy little pawns. Impatient knights. Misguided bishops. A lost queen.

   All mean nothing without their true King.
