Work Text:

There is this beautiful guy, like honest to God, beautiful like you wouldn’t believe, in the basketball court in the park who is shooting hoops by himself – as usual, he never seems to bring anyone with him or meets up with anyone at the court. Sweat is dripping off of him, causing his bangs to stick to his forehead and soaking his already drenched grey t-shirt that hangs loose on his small frame, his black shorts occasionally clinging to his thighs –

annnnnnnnd then there’s Jeon Jeongguk, the black-haired fifteen-year old boy who honestly can’t get enough of watching him at the corner of his eyes while he pretends to do his homework, which he believes he does a good job of it; pretending that is while running his deceptively innocent doe-like eyes over the lithe figure of the man. Man, because the guy is obviously a couple of years older than Jeongguk’s young fifteen years.

Not that he honestly really cares how old the guy is.

Jeongguk supposes this fascination of his started back a little over a two weeks ago on the very day that he first laid his eyes on the ethereal beauty who strutted into the park that he usually occupied to do his homework once school was finished for the day with a basketball and headed straight towards the court. Why would he pick a park to do his homework, when he could have easily went home to do it once he got home from hanging out with friends?

Well, first of all, he would need friends to do that. Second, he doesn’t like the emptiness of the house. His parents are never home and his brother left the first chance he got to go make a living of his own, eager to leave the bleak household. More food for him though.

(Jeongguk didn’t take it to heart; he would have done the same if he was in his shoes.)

Anyway… where was he? Ah, right.

The first day…

Jeongguk nibbled on his bottom lip as he tried to solve the math problem that he is currently staring at, but he honestly couldn’t make heads or tails of it. Perhaps he’ll just have to wing that math test and hope for the best after all? His teeth dig in deeper at the thought.

Maybe he should actually ask his teacher if he could get someone to tutor him in math… nah! Jeongguk shook his head, snorting to himself, he can wing it and get a decent percentage as he usually does.

Smirking, he continues to do the homework, putting down whatever seemed to come to mind and felt right to his gut.

Clang! Bang!

Jeongguk jumped, absolutely startled at the unexpected sound of the basketball court gate being thrown open and meeting the fence it was attached to loudly, and spun around in his seat on the picnic table to look at the source of what nearly caused him to have a heart attack right then and there.

He felt as though his heart stopped.

This is will be a running theme, Jeongguk absently thought, visibly gawking at the male with shocking green hair that seems to suit his incredibly fair skin, as if he never gets outside enough to darken the tone of his skin. Then his eyes roam over the body, taking in the red jacket that only seem to make the guy smaller than he already looks, and the shorts that hugs his legs.

Meaning that Jeongguk can see the curve of his ass and the thickness of his thighs.

He chokes when he somehow breathes and the air goes in the wrong tube, cheeks flushed, and clenches his eyes shut while moving his head in the opposite direction of the basketball player. Once he recovers, he quickly packs up his things and speed-walks home.

He ends up learning three things the very next day; 1) he is an ass man, 2) he has a thing for thighs, and 3) he also has a thing for an older boy who he doesn’t even know the name to because no one else tickles his fancy after the first two discoveries.

That, and he had developed a rather odd taste for lamb skewers overnight. He’s not sure why.

The 97-line pursed his lips (let’s be real here, he pouted) as his gaze focused back onto the barely-solved math problems on the sheet of paper lay out in front of him. He should really get someone to tutor him in math so he doesn’t wing it as much and end up with 68% all the time on his tests.

“Are you having trouble with math, kid?”

Jeongguk sat up straight out of his slouch, tense, at the gravelly voice that spoke next his to ear, his back lightly hit a rather shockingly strong chest. He swallowed thickly, as if he was forcing his heart back into its place as he did so, and opened his mouth, “Y-yeah.”

‘Shit,’ he thought, dismayed that he stuttered and his tone was rather shaky as well. ‘Definitely killed that first impression, dumbass.’

A low chuckle reached his ears, causing his cheeks, ears, and neck to heat. “I’ll help you out, not that I’m a genius at math or anything, but I know some stuff. Kind of have to, with my job and all.”

The solid chest moved away from his back, which had the fifteen-year old pouting a bit at without his knowledge, and an arm rub against his right as the owner sat down right up against his side. Jeongguk turned a bit to look at the guy – who seemed to have changed his hair to a gray-blue colour this week – and have a closer look of him; the only thing that accomplished is that finalised the fact that the fifteen-year old is doomed to have a one-sided crush on the guy for years – the guy is just the definition of gorgeous!

“Name is Min Yoongi,” the guy introduced himself. “I’m pretty sure I can safely say that I’m four years your senior, judging by your homework. Could be wrong though.”

‘Be calm,’ but honestly, why is his heart beating so loud? It’s not as though Yoongi telling him his name (Min Yoongi,) changes the fact that his out of his league. Coughing, Jeongguk stutters out his name after he realized it was silent for about fifteen seconds, meaning that Min Yoongi wants his name back.

‘Be calm,’ he repeated to himself, it’s perfectly normal to want to hear a name back once one offers their own. The guy he’s been (creepily) watching is just helping out because he must have always look liked a lost puppy that was abandoned, thus he’s doing the world a favour being helping out that poor puppy.

Jeongguk fervently told himself that Yoongi is only sitting right up against him because there isn’t much space on his side of the picnic table (which was a total lie, he admits later on, there was plenty space.) So what if Yoongi isn’t as red in the face as he is, it’s just hot outside.

“Do you understand what you’re supposed to do now, Jeongguk-ah?” Yoongi asked softly, nudging the younger lightly as he looked over the sheet of paper that he and the boy had been using to practice math questions on. He didn’t do too badly, once he begun to actually pay attention, but it’s probably the case of simply not interested in the subject with boy. Yoongi turned to look over the fifteen-year old when he failed to hear a response in a minute.

Jeongguk is so red, Yoongi thought absently, amused and fond all at once, ‘Cute.’ Movement caught his eye which caused them to slip downwards and stare at the red lips that got moist from a pink tongue that slowly slip back inside its dark cavern. Then the lips parted.

“I… I understand, mostly,” the shy boy answered, still that delicious red. “Thank you, Yoongi… hyung…”

The nineteen-year old couldn’t help but be glad that no one ever comes to this park other than Jeongguk and him, because his next action could have caused quite the scandal and landed his ass in jail if anyone knew he was so much older than the boy.

That being said, his rather glad that his height was the same as the boy who he shares the same affections for, no matter how strange they occurred the past two weeks.

Why?

Because no one would really say anything about two boys the same height kissing.

Pulling back, Yoongi smirked at the boy whose eyes and pupils were so wide blown, he got up and pat Jeongguk on the head as he moved past him, “I’ll see you tomorrow, yeah? I still need my underage stalker to impress when I play ball.”

“THAT – YOONGI-HYUNG, THAT’S SO CRUEL!”

Min Yoongi smirked to himself, but otherwise did not react. Should probably treat the kid to something as an apology tomorrow, he thought to himself.

He hoped Jeongguk liked lamb skewers, because he has been oddly craving for the food for awhile. He’s not sure why, but oh well.

Notes:

Give thanks to @sugakookielove for this oneshot. Yes. Tho I shall call it oneshit. Because it’s shit and so crack-filled lmao. Can it even count as a one shot?? I am a terrible person who can’t update for shit and decides to write something else completely when I am incapable of falling asleep for a lil over 24 hours.

I’ll write something better once I’ve gotten some sleep and when I’ve got the time to do so.
