Chapter Text

"Ah! Crowley! There you are!" Aziraphale smiled once he saw his "foe" and stood to greet him on their usual bench near the Thames.
"I suppose you've also been dispatched to the American assignment?" He cringed as he thought about having to go back. While it was fun playing as a cowboy, he wasn't a fan of the guns. Crowley nodded and slumped into the bench beside the angel; a case gripped in one hand that Aziraphale hadn't noticed until then.
"My dear boy-"
"Nope." Crowley cut him off abruptly.
"Oh, my apologies. My dear lady- erm, is that correct?" Crowley nodded and Aziraphale continued, "what is that in your hand?" he motioned to the case in the leather clad demon's grip.
"Ngk! Oh that..." She had completely forgotten about it. "I was talking to Freddie, and he said something about how I should learn to play an instrument, so I chose this." She had offhandedly mentioned that she wanted to play like Freddie for some time and he, in turn, had recommended the violin. Her face was flushed, and it didn't help that Aziraphale now knew about it.
"Would you play for me?" the angel asked. He desperately wanted pt see how Crowley played, but by the expression on her face, she probably wouldn't.
"Um, never mind all that... I suppose we should get down to brass tacks?"
"what? oh, the assignment." Crowley had almost forgotten why she was there!
"Yeahhhh so... I don't want to go to America and neither do you, I assume anyway, so what should we do?"
"We could flip a coin!" The angel replied, smiling. "It worked quite well the last couple times if I remember correctly, Oh!" Aziraphale fished something out of his pocket. "I made something for just such an occasion!"
When Crowley leaned over to see what it was, she was slightly impressed. It was a coin, about the size of a Half Penny, with what appeared to be a printing of her Bently, and when Azi turned it over, it looked like his bookshop.
"Alright! Sounds good." She extended her hand, but Aziraphale pulled the coin back.
"Oh no you don't! I don't want you miracling your way out." Crowley stared at her companion blankly and questioned;
"and how do I know you won't?" Aziraphale stared back completely baffeled.
"I'm an angel!" he replied indignantly "I woud never cheat my way out of something!"
"And yet here we are," Crowley replied, "Coin tossing for an assignment."
Aziraphale stared at the woman next to him harshly and, after a moment, decided to do something.
