Treats

Summary:

Seonghyeon keeps feeding Martin treats while Martin’s deep in the studio.

Work Text:

The studio was dim and quiet, lit only by the soft glow of Martin’s laptop and the blinking lights on the audio interface. A slow instrumental loop played through his headphones, a dreamy melody of synths and soft piano chords. He leaned forward, brows slightly furrowed, adjusting a vocal layer with careful hands.

Martin didn’t notice the door creak open.

A second later, a familiar voice whispered playfully, “Delivery for the genius composer~”

Martin flinched slightly, pulling off his headphones. His eyes softened the moment he saw Seonghyeon standing there, oversized hoodie drowning his frame, black cap pulled low, a mask dangling from one ear, and a canvas tote bag hanging off his shoulder.

“Babe,” Martin said quietly, a small smile tugging at his lips.

Seonghyeon closed the door behind him and kicked off his sneakers. “You didn’t text me all day,” he said with a pout as he walked over. “I figured you were holed up in here, skipping meals like usual.”

“I was working,” Martin replied, though the guilt in his voice was clear.

“And starving,” Seonghyeon teased. “That’s why I came to rescue you.”

Before Martin could respond, Seonghyeon marched right up to him and without warning, he plopped himself into his lap like it was the most normal thing in the world. His weight settled comfortably against Martin, one arm looping around his shoulders, the other already digging into the tote bag.

Martin let out a soft, surprised sound but didn’t stop him. His hands instinctively moved to Seonghyeon’s waist, steadying him.

“You’re so annoying,” he muttered under his breath.

Seonghyeon giggled. “You love it, babe.”

He pulled out a pack of cookies and tore it open, already breaking one in half. “Now. One bite for my Martin ~” he sang sweetly, holding the piece up to Martin’s lips.

Martin sighed, but the corner of his mouth twitched. He opened up and let Seonghyeon feed him. As soon as he chewed, Seonghyeon leaned in and kissed his forehead.

“There we go,” Seonghyeon said, smiling proudly. “A fed boyfriend is a happy boyfriend.”

“Yeah, sure, whatever.” Martin murmured, but the smile was there. Gentle and fond.

They went on like that for a while. Seonghyeon fed him snacks, cookies, tangerine slices, a few gummies and every time Martin took a bite, Seonghyeon gave him a kiss. Forehead, cheek, sometimes the tip of his nose. He swung his legs playfully from Martin’s lap, humming softly to the instrumental playing in the background.

Martin didn’t get much work done after that, but he didn’t mind.

“You wanna hear what I’ve got so far?” he asked after a while, adjusting the track window on his screen.

Seonghyeon nodded eagerly, still nestled against him. “Play it, baby.”

Martin hit the spacebar, and the track played, soft keys, layered synths, a slow beat with a gentle swing. Seonghyeon rested his head against Martin’s chest as he listened, his fingers absentmindedly playing with the strings of Martin’s hoodie.

When the chorus played, Seonghyeon smiled.

“Another love song,” he said. “Who’s it for?”

Martin didn’t even look at him. “Some annoying guy who keeps feeding me like I’m a toddler.”

Seonghyeon gasped, fake-offended. “Excuse me?!”

He grabbed a gummy bear from the open snack pile and shoved it into Martin’s mouth.

Martin just chewed with a smug look.

Seonghyeon leaned back in his lap, eyes twinkling. “I’m still your muse.”

“Maybe.” Martin said, smirking softly.

Seonghyeon made a noise of protest and squirmed a little. “You’re warm,” he mumbled, resting his head back against Martin’s shoulder. “I could fall asleep like this.”

“You always fall asleep like this.”

“Because it’s comfy,” Seonghyeon said with a sleepy smile. “You’re comfy, baby.”

Martin chuckled softly, his hands still resting on Seonghyeon’s waist, thumbs tracing small circles. He looked down at him, at the way his lashes brushed his cheeks, the way his lips curled slightly even in rest. So pretty. So soft.

“You wanna lie down for a bit?” he asked gently.

Seonghyeon nodded, eyes still half-closed. “Only if you come with me.”

A few minutes later, they were curled up together on the studio couch, the project saved and the music playing softly in the background. Seonghyeon was nestled into Martin’s chest, legs tangled with his, one hand resting over his heart.

Martin kissed the top of his head. “You okay?”

“Mmhmm,” Seonghyeon murmured. “I just missed you.”

“I’m sorry I didn’t text.”

“It’s okay,” Seonghyeon whispered. “Just… don’t overwork yourself, okay? I like you best when you smile.”

Martin tightened his arms around him. “I smile the most when you’re here, babe.”

That made Seonghyeon look up. His eyes were sleepy but shining, and his lips were pink from all the snacking.

“You’re a sap,” he whispered with a giggle.

Martin leaned in and kissed him.

Just once at first. A soft, careful press of lips.

Then again.

And again.

Seonghyeon made a soft sound against his mouth, curling his fingers into Martin’s hoodie as he melted into the kiss. Martin cupped the back of his head, kissing him slow, deep, tender. Again and again until Seonghyeon was breathless. His cheeks flushed, his chest rising fast, lips parted in a dazed smile.

“Martin,” he whispered, blinking up at him. “You’re gonna make me pass out.”

“You’re dramatic,” Martin murmured, kissing the corner of his mouth.

“And you’re obsessed with me,” Seonghyeon teased, nuzzling into his chest. “But it’s okay. I’m obsessed with you too.”

He traced lazy shapes over Martin’s chest with his fingertips, his voice growing quieter.

“Can you promise me something?” Seonghyeon murmured, eyes barely open but full of trust.

“Anything, baby,” Martin whispered.

“Promise you won’t ever overwork yourself again. Promise me you’ll take breaks. Promise me you’ll let me take care of you, okay?”

Martin smiled, pressing another gentle kiss to Seonghyeon’s temple. “I promise. For you, I’ll slow down.”

Seonghyeon’s lips curled into the happiest smile, his hand tightening over Martin’s chest. “Good. Because I want all of you. Healthy, happy, and mine.”

Martin chuckled softly. “Always yours, babe.”

They stayed like that for a while, just breathing in each other’s warmth, sharing soft kisses on cheeks, eyelids, and the tip of noses.

No need for words. No need for anything else.

Just this. Quiet, safe, and utterly perfect.

Because some moments don’t need a stage or a crowd.

They only need two hearts beating close.

And right here, right now, that was enough.
