“Adam… It’s really you.”
It wasn’t a question; it was a statement. One that made Adam's veins freeze. His hands instinctively go towards his face. He felt the smooth, soft skin of his face instead of the glass surface of his mask. He covers the exposed half, backing away, begging Heaven to beam him up. To please, please beam him up and away from the one being that single-handedly ruined his life. The same one he once called a friend, now looking back at him with such reverence, it made him sick. How dare he look at Adam like that? After all this time, after what he did?
The moment didn’t last. Because no sooner did Adam realize he was screwed, Lucifer's eyes changed from gold to red, and he watched in slow, dawning horror as Lucifer’s lips stretched into a wide, predatory smile.
