“Alvae are among the most insidious and treacherous of all recorded entities. Deceptive in form, they mimic human shape and speech, but beneath the skin lies only hunger. Their abilities include infiltration of dreams, extraction of memory, and psychic infestation of the host mind. They are capable of prolonged masquerade, often assuming the likeness of loved ones to lure prey.
Weaknesses are few but decisive: alvae cannot withstand prolonged exposure to sanctified metals or the sigils of binding flame. Strike swiftly, without hesitation. To hesitate is to fall.
