Cardinal Lomeli left his apartment in the Palace of the Holy Office shortly before breakfast and hurried through the darkened cloisters of the Vatican towards the bedroom of the Secretary of State. He was thinking: O Lord, he has be thinking of this for so long, whereas all your useful work in the service of the Vatican. He is beloved, while I am forgotten. Spare me, Lord. Spare me.
He toiled up the cobbled slope towards the Piazza Santa Marta. The Roman air was soft and misty, yet already he could detect the first faint chill of autumn. It was raining slightly. Standing there was the beautiful sight of the big bald of head of his best friend of years.
He approaches him with haste Bellini opens his mouth and says something but it is soon forgotten as Jacopo grabs him and licks his big bald shinny head
"What the fuck Jacopo" he says as he shoves Lommeli away.
