Work Text:
Aaron, Vic, John, and Mack were sitting at the Woolpack enjoying the evening.
“We should play never have I ever,” Mack suggested.
Robert walked into the pub, and Aaron looked at him as Robert looked back at Aaron.
“Robert, come join us,” Vic asked.
Robert pulled up a chair and sat at the table opposite Aaron.
“Never have I ever had sex outdoors,” Vic started.
“I’m too dignified to have sex outdoors,” John replied.
Aaron and Robert both drink at the same time. Mack notices and smirks. Aaron avoids looking at Robert and avoids looking at John, whom he told that he was not interested in sex outdoors on one of the many camping trips John forced Aaron to go on.
“Never have I ever had sex in my place of work,” John said.
Aaron and Robert drink, and Robert smirks, remembering all the times that he and Aaron had sex in the portacabin. They were wonderful times, and Robert hoped that they would have time to do it again soon.
Aaron avoided eye contact with John and was worried that he would be angry.
Mack smirked as he realised that Aaron and Robert had a very active sex life and were not afraid to take risks when it came to sex. He wanted to see how far their wild sex life went.
“Never have I ever had sex in a barn,” Mack said.
“Who would want to have sex in a barn?” John asked.
Aaron and Robert both drank simultaneously. Aaron remembers all the times that he had sex with Robert in barns. Robert was thinking of the times they had sex in barns and would not mind a repeat performance.
“Eh, Johnny boy, you and Aaron have a boring sex life compared to what Robert and Aaron have or is it had?” Mack teased.
“I’m sure that I make Aaron happier than Robert ever did and satisfy him more,” John proclaimed.
Aaron could not look at John’s eyes. The truth was that John was boring and that he missed Robert. But Robert was not the safe option, and Aaron owed John for what he did for him. Aaron would have to live with John even if their sex life was boring compared to his sex life with Robert.
“Never have I ever fallen asleep during sex with my husband,” Robert said.
Robert smirked as Aaron drank. John looked at Aaron as he drank. John had thought that Aaron was tired, but maybe he was the problem. John needed to get rid of Robert, or he and Aaron would not have a future.
“Eh, Johnny boy, you really bore our Aaron that much. Aaron, what do you do?” Mack teased John.
Aaron blushed and looked down. It was not John’s fault that he bored Aaron. Aaron thought he was the safe option, and now he could see how much better things were when he was with Robert. The problem was that Robert left him and divorced him, and Aaron was not sure he was ready to move past that.
“Never have I ever done it in a garage,” Vic said.
Aaron and Robert drank simultaneously. John was growing increasingly frustrated. All the things Aaron said he was not interested in doing, he did with Robert. But Aaron was his now and not Robert’s, so John will show Robert that Aaron prefers John over Robert.
“In a garage, Aaron. You dirty boy. Was it good?” Mack asked.
Aaron blushed and avoided looking Mack in the eye. His first time with Robert was mind-altering, earthshattering, and Aaron never experienced anything like that. Aaron had never been shook so much by a one-night stand.
Robert saw what Aaron was thinking and smirked. He knew that Aaron would eventually choose him over John. He could see that Aaron only needed to thaw a bit more, and then he would be his once more.
“John, how do you compete with your brother, the great Robert Sugde,n who it seems Aaron was willing to do everything with and with you, he seems not to want to do anything,” Mack teased John.
“Shut up, just shut up. Aaron is my husband, and we are meant to be together. Robert is Aaron’s past, and I am his future. So what if he had sex outdoors, in barns, in garages, and at their place of work with Robert. Aaron chose me. I am his future, and he should be grateful to me for giving him the time of day,” John screamed.
“Alright, Johnny boy, calm down. I’m sure you and Aaron have a spectacular sex life as well,” Mack teased.
Aaron looked down, avoiding everyone’s eye contact and was pretending that he was not bored by John. He should be supporting John, but he missed Robert so much.
“Whatever, I’m leaving. I don’t need to hear all of this,” John said and stormed off.
Vic walked off after him to comfort John.
Mack burst out laughing and looked at Aaron and Robert.
“I don’t know why you would choose John when you and Robert seemed to have a spectacular sex life. If John bores you so much, why don’t you dump him?” Mack asked.
“I can’t just abandon my husband for Robert. I owe him,” Aaron said.
“That’s a ringing love declaration,” Mack said.
“I should probably go,” Robert said with a wink at Aaron.
Aaron blushed, and Robert smirked. Robert thought that Aaron still loved him, but for some reason, he felt like he needed to stay with John. Robert would have to remind Aaron of all the reasons they were great together.
Robert walked out of the Woolpack, and Mack and Aaron were left alone at the table.
“I know that you still love Robert, why deny yourself that happiness that you can have with Robert and be with him?” Mack asked.
“I can’t leave John. Robert is my past. John is my future. I have commitments and I can’t just walk away from them,” Aaron said.
“Commitments, that’s what you call your marriage?” Mack asked.
“Well, why don’t you focus on your marriage and stay out of mine?” Aaron said defensively.
“Okay, touchy subject. I’ll leave it for now, but I know what you really want. Just think about it. You’re my best mate,” Mack said.
“I have commitments and I can't abandon them. I’ll see you later, mate,” Aaron said.
Aaron walked out of the Woolpack and walked to the Mill, trying not to think of Robert the whole time.
