Summary
Evryn Beckett is a greaser with a cigarette habit, a switchblade, a sharp tongue, and something dark curling under her skin. Magic was never supposed to be like this, violent, wrong, explosive. She’s an Obscurial, barely keeping it together. Then Dumbledore shows up, disrupting her life. Hogwarts offers her a chance, but it’s a gamble. Most Obscurials don’t live past childhood. Evryn doesn’t plan to be the exception. She doesn’t need saving. But then the Marauders, loud, reckless Gryffindors, pull her into their chaos, unaware of the monster she is. War is coming, and she possesses magic she doesn’t even want. But when one life is taken, the course of history bends, friendships shatter, and people ride the fine line between good and evil.
