Chapter Text

Lumi was 20 now and had joined Huntr/X, she was 2 years free of her foster homes and had been better then ever. Then the day had finally come, it was Huntr/X's last concert until their long awaited break. Lumi and the rest of Huntr/X were exited to sit on their couch and rot.

They planned to watch movies, eat as much as they could, and hang out together.

Until Rumi had announced Golden (their new single) right after Lumi, Mira, and Zoey had just sat down.

The promo started that night and the girls were bummed they didn't get to do any of their activities. Luckily the Golden MV was getting so many views and already charting thanks to the fans.

They had already planned a live show for Golden and were practicing the choreography while singing. Until Rumi had said she needed to "take 5" after her voice cracked, but ended up not coming back.

Lumi, Mira, and Zoey were waiting at the penthouse for Rumi (and lowkey panicking) until she walked in through the doors. After Rumi explained her voice was in trouble and sitting down for a meal they decided a plan was needed to help Rumi. Zoey expressed her idea on how to fix it they all went to bed and waited until morning to try it out.

The next morning they got in 'disguise' and headed out hoping they didn't run into any fans. They waited in a store Zoey found online to get special tonic for Rumi's voice for what felt like forever. But nonetheless it would help Rumi.

On their way out of the store Lumi heard something.. Fans? She alerted the others and they ducked down in hopes they wouldn't be noticed. 4 boys had came around the corner waking toward them like a group of teenaged boys in a mall.

After they whipped around the corner Lumi noticed one in particular. He had teal hair, a pink sweater, a yellow hat, and looked like he had never heard of leg day. Lumi didn't know who he was but damn was he fine. She couldn't stop staring at the teal haired boy. It seemed as she caught his attention as he was now looking at her. As they locked eyes Lumi's heart was pounding.

Then a 5th boy walked around a corner, bumbed into Rumi, and knocked the box of tonic out of her hands. The boys turned around to see the damage the fellow member had done, but once again Lumi couldn't take her eyes off the teal haired boy.

The boys walked off with some laughter fading into the distance. But Lumi heard a noise so her and the rest of the gang went to check it out.

It was those damn boys again. They seemed to be preforming a concert right in the middle of a street.

Lumi had found out from a flyer a fan was holding that they were called the Saja Boys, and were singing some song about 'Soda Pop'.

Lumi didn't care much about the song or the other boys she just wanted to see the teal haired boy again. The song went on and the boys were somehow making hearts out of thin air. To her surprise the teal haired boy blew one right to her.

Lumi's heart fluttered in her chest until she noticed Zoey getting smacked in the face by a heart.The performance went on the teal haired boy started doing a rap. Lumi was quite mesmerized by his deep voice despite his looks.

The concert was interesting to say the least, but the girls were discussing something the 'Saja Boys' had revealed mid performance. Patterns. They all flashed their patterns at the girls. But Lumi and Zoey didn't want to believe it. While Zoey was vocal about it Lumi kept quiet and didn't really care as long as she found out more info on the teal haired boy.
After the Saja Boy's concert they had announced they were going on a popular game show.

The girls knew they had to do something about the boys so they made a plan. The girls decided to wait backstage while the Saja Boys had a hotsauce drinking contest. Lumi had learned each of the boys names but only cared about the teal haired one who was called Baby.

Unfortunately Huntr/X's plan of jumping the Saja Boy's off stage had failed. Jinu (who was the one that bumbed into Rumi) had announced their appearance and brought the girls on stage. Lumi secretly didn't mind because she could be closer to Baby. The girls to go down a slide but were sadly wearing leather that made a terrible noise when sliding. Lumi couldn't stop staring at Baby. He had covered his ears (probably because of the noise) same as Lumi who hates loud noises. Baby was so cute and fine just standing there like that. Lumi began to think that maybe all demons weren't that bad, but immediately took the thought out of her head.

After the show the boys darted toward the bathhouse and the girls followed. As they arrived the Saja Boys were standing in a line wating for them. While other girls were speaking Lumi locked eyes with Baby and gave him a look hopefully sending the message that she didn't want to hurt him.

Then suddenly Saja Boys ran off (which made Lumi jump). Lumi decided to run after Baby hoping to ask him questions but as she entered the hallway she was pushed into another room.

Before she could look around after getting her balance back, she saw a flash of teal and was pushed onto a wall.

"Ah" "Hey get off of me!" Lumi screeched. She then realized it was Baby who had pushed her and was pinning her to the wall. He was slightly towering over her, despite being the shortest Saja Boy. Lumi had just realized the situation and her heart began to flutter.

"And what if I don't want to?" Baby asked voice deep. Lumi opened her mouth to say something but couldn't. Then she spoke "What are you demons doing here?" Her voice was sharp and a little more hateful then she intended it to be. "Why would I tell you?" then in a flash of smoke they teleported out of the bathhouse. "Hey what are you doing?!" Lumi asked now realizing she was on the top of a skyscraper. "Just didn't want to have to pin u down to talk I guess." Baby said softly. "Well?" Lumi asked confused. "Do you want to be friends?" Baby asked almost sheepishly. "And why would I do that?" Lumi asked sharply. "Because if you don't become my friend then I'll steal your soul right here right now." Baby said getting close to Lumi slightly towering over her. "And I can tell you like me." Lumi gapped at that statement, he wasn't wrong but he was also a demon. "Ugh fine" Lumi said with hesitation then gave him her phone. She watched him type his number in and quickly handed back her phone. Then he took her hand and in a flash of smoke they were back at the bathhouse.

Mira and Zoey were in danger and needed backup now. But before she ran off Baby pulled Lumi close and looked deep into her eyes and teleported away, leaving Lumi to help Zoey and Mira before Rumi could come save them all.

Chapter Text

The girls had made it back to the penthouse where they overlooked all of the weak spots in the Honmoon. Lumi was concerned and wondered if all of this was because of The Saja Boys. The girls were suddenly interrupted from their looking by Bobby who was panicking about social media numbers. After Bobby had helped them plan, the girls decided they were going to make a dis-track to takedown the Saja Boys.

After a while of sitting in her room Lumi had heard a noise outside and went to check it out. It was Rumi with some random tiger and bird picking up a flower pot. After watching she figured out Rumi was meeting with Jinu and followed her there... Until her plan was stopped, she had saw Baby standing in a corner. She didn't know why he was there, although it appeared he was watching too. So she texted him

Me: Look behind you

She watched as Baby turned around looked every which way, only for Lumi to sneak up behind him. He jumped and turned around to see Lumi standing there. She waved shyly to him. "Sorry for jumpscaring you I was mainly wondering what you're doing here." Baby waved back and didn't say anything. "Are you here to spy on Jinu or something?" Lumi had asked. All Baby did was nod keeping quiet so Rumi and Jinu wouldn't hear them. They both stood there waiting to see what happened. All of a sudden Lumi heard Rumi yelling at Jinu. She jumped and stepped back knocking her off balance. Until Baby had caught her waist right before she hit the ground. They locked eyes for a moment before Lumi quickly stood back up looking all flustered.

Rumi and Jinu finally stopped talking and Rumi was headed back. Lumi knew it was time for her to go just to be sure she wasn't caught. Right as she started to walk off Baby grabbed her arm. Lumi turned back around to see why he had grabbed her arm. Then Baby finally spoke. "Uh would you want to meet up again and idk talk about something" Baby had asked. "Um yea sure" "You can text me the details later" Lumi obviously couldn't resist to see him again and agreed to meet up. Baby nodded and gave a smile which Lumi returned, before they both went their separate ways.

After getting back to the penthouse Lumi couldn't stop blushing and thinking about Baby. As she remembered the bathhouse encounter she wondered if maybe she should've kissed him, but quickly shook the idea off. Then her mind started making up little fake scenarios, but knew deep down they would never happen.

Lumi couldn't seem to fall asleep and was debating with herself whether she should look up more info about Baby.

She decided to look him up afterall but there wasn't really anything. All the other Saja Boys had lots of info/theorys about them except Baby who only had a few. Then Lumi stumbled upon fan fics about the Saja Boy's with their Huntr/X ship. She did some digging and found everyone getting shipped with eachother. She ended up finding out the most common person she'd been shipped with was Baby. She was lowkey glad to see that seeing how she liked him.

After searching for a little while longer Lumi came to the conclusion it would be best (and easier) to just ask and talk to Baby about himself, seeing how she had his phone number. Then she finally decided it was time for her to finally get some sleep.

Chapter Text

In the morning the girls had started working on a song to takedown the Saja Boys. Zoey had revealed that she liked Mystery after saying some sappy things about him. Lumi debated on saying something about Baby but stopped herself and continued working on the song. They weren't getting very far until Mira had mentioned the word takedown (after taking down some posters) and sparked an idea for the song.

That night Lumi and Baby had met up as agreed and started talking about their groups. Lumi found out that the Saja Boys had been interested in the rest of the Huntr/X girls. Lumi had discussed that she had a few hunches that they probably liked the Saja Boys back.

They had been walking for a while and reached a park when Baby suddenly took Lumi's hand. Her heart was beating fast but she just kept walking talking about the girls, hoping her nervousness wasn't noticeable.

They had reached a park bench and commotion had started. She saw people walking toward them and trying to huddle. It was very loud and chaotic, but before it got out of hand Baby had stood up and looked a Lumi. Then he took her arm and they just ran away. She knew this would come back to her in the media, but really hoped it didn't.

Lumi was happy to get out of there nonetheless right before a big crowd started to form. "Hey why did you take my arm and leave with me?" Lumi asked out of breath from running so long. Baby shrugged and then started speaking "I could sense you were uncomfortable with all of the noise. And to be honest I was getting overwhelmed too." He wasn't wrong she didn't like the noise but she could've gotten over it, after all she's an Idol and has had many loud concerts. "Oh well thank you" Lumi said quietly.

They locked eyes once again and Baby stepped forward. Lumi had to admit the height difference was kinda hot and didn't mind him always looming over her. Baby put a hand on her check brushing it with his tumb. Lumi's hand had instinctively shot up and brushed his. A beat of silence passed before Baby pulled away. His phone buzzed and Lumi pulled her's out checking the time.

"Hey it's getting late and I need to head back before the girls get suspicious." "Hey wanna call later? and they both went back to their houses.

Over the next few days award shows were held where Huntr/X and the Saja Boys had saw each other. Sometimes Huntr/X won and sometimes the Saja Boys won. Huntr/X had lots of awards and didn't care if other artists won... Unless it was the Saja Boys..

Lumi and Baby were still texting and meeting up. They yapped about their past's, or whatever was currently going on.

The two had similar back stories. Both went through many foster homes that didn't stick. Unlike Lumi, Baby had ran away when he was 16. And unlike Baby, Lumi knew how her parents died. Whereas Baby didn't know anything about his parents.

For all he knew they could've died, or maybe he was an orphan and given up.

All he knew is that he's been in foster homes for as long as he can remember.

Through all of their texts and meet ups, Baby had revealed a side of himself that showed Lumi that maybe demons weren't all bad and just misunderstood.

Chapter Text

A few days later Bobby had set up a meet and greet for the girls to hopefully get Huntr/X's social numbers up (whatever that means). There were hundreds of people lined up on the side walk some people even camped out over night just to see the girls.

As people filed inside, 5 people were in the front wearing sleeping bags.

It was the Saja Boys... They had slept overnight on the sidewalk just to see them.

Lumi frantically looked around and locked eyes with Baby giving him a faint smile, which he returned.

Bobby was quick to offer the Saja Boys a table, but the girls lost half the fans thst way. So Rumi proposed the idea of the Saja Boys sitting with them.

Baby had immediately sat down on the right side of where Lumi was sitting. She had somehow felt more comfortable with him there right by her side.

Then Baby started holding her hand. Lumi's heart raced as she panicked knowing the press and the girls would not like this. And yet somehow it seemed as no one was paying attention. But alas there he was again holding her hand in public with no shame.

After signing fan's items, and getting asked by a fan if Lumi and Baby were dating Lumi was quickly cut off by before she could answer. Rumi had suddenly stood up and had praised Jinu. (For some reason) But Lumi already had a hunch (and a little info from Baby about how Jinu went on and on about Rumi) something was happening between Rumi and Jinu.

The fans had thrown flowers to the Saja Boys and Jinu made an announcement they had to leave. Baby said bye to Lumi, then hesitantly lead the rest of the Saja Boys out of the building.

After the meet and greet, the girls had discovered the fans had already started shipping everyone together.

Because Lumi already knew it was happening because of her research one night, she didn't really react when Zoey started announcing the most popular ship names.

There was Rujinu (Rumi × Jinu), Zoestery (Zoey × Mystery), Miromabby (Mira × Romance × Abby), and Lumaby (Lumi × Baby).

Each post of the ships' had their own fan art, photos, and edits. Then came the photo she had no idea anyone had taken/noticed.

Lumi kept getting bombarded with questions from the other girls asking if she eas ok and why he would do such a thing. But she tried to act as oblivious as she could, and said she didn't know why he did that. (Even though she had a hunch.)

A few days had passed by since the meet and greet and Lumi and Baby had found out Rumi and Jinu were meeting, so instead of walking around a park or just texting, they decided to spy on Rumi and Jinu.

After waiting awhile in the bushes waiting to see what was going to happen, Rumi had jumpscared Jinu making him scream. Lumi had jumped and lost her balance causing her to almost fall into some bushes. Until she felt Baby catch her before she hit the ground again. He looked at her in a certain loving way then helped her back up holding her hand while sitting.

As they were spying, they saw Jinu fumble Rumi hard because he had assumed they were on a date because of a card. But Rumi quickly shot down the idea and had stated it was 'business'.

After some time had passed a random old lady came by and asked Jinu if he wanted a bracelet for his 'girlfriend'.

But alas Jinu fumbled again had said that Rumi "wasn't his type" (which was a total lie). After a little bit more commotion between the two, the old lady ending up just giving Rumi a bracelet.

Rumi tried to be the bigger person and give Jinu the bracelet, exept he didn't take it at first. But eventually took it in the most k-drama way possible. Lumi and Baby quietly exhaled (trying not to laugh) after that, but Rumi suddenly ran off after saying goodbye to Jinu.

All of a sudden, Jinu started walking towards the bushes where Lumi and Baby were camped out at.

Baby had swiftly moved out infront of the bushes to hopefully make Jinu get away from the bushes.

"Baby what are you doing here!" Jinu had screamed. "I could ask you the same thing." Baby said as deadpan as ever. "Hey what's in those bushes?" Jinu had asked. "Uh- erm uh nothing-" Baby tried blocking the bushes from Jinu. But alas he couldn't stop him and Jinu still saw Lumi.

After frantically explaining Baby and Lumi had finally been found out. Jinu now knew that they had been meeting since Jinu and Rumi's 1st meet up.

Jinu was flabbergasted and threatened to tell Gwi-Ma what Baby had been doing.

Lumi had known that Gwi-ma doesn't pay much attention to Baby because he's Gwi-ma's favorite, and had gained Gwi-ma's trust. So she wasn't to worried about that. Then Baby had threatened back with a snarky remark in a tone she had never hear him speak before.

Luckily after hearing that, and some more fighting between the two (with Lumi's occasional input) Jinu backed down and kept Baby and Lumi a secret.

After Jinu had left Lumi and Baby went on a walk. "Man was that crazy." Lumi stated "We were one step away from being cooked." "Yeah" Baby agreed "Hey so I lnow this is probably a weird thing to ask, but do you like me?" Lumi asked. "I don't know. I feel like I've gotten to know you so well, so I guess I do like you." Baby explained. "Oh well I like you to" Lumi said.

They stopped mid walk locking eyes, feeling the slight tension (to kiss) between them.Then Lumi remembered she needed to get home.

"Oh strap I gotta get home but I'll see you tomorrow!" Lumi exclaimed "Ok bye!" Baby said. And they went off on their separate ways.

Chapter Text

The next day had come and Huntr/X was practicing to Takedown for the Idol Awards. Lumi didn't want to sing Takedown because of what Baby had taught her about demons, but she wouldn't say anything.

Then Rumi spoke up and said she couldn't sing Takedown at the Idol Awards. Lumi was relieved because she didn't want to sing Takedown. Bobby had stopped by with some snacks, but the Honmoon suddenly flashed forcing the girls to leave their manager.

The girls went to takedown the demons in the Honmoon's weak area. But Mira and Rumi were fighting about the song (and Rumi's strange behavior/actions) they started yelling which made Lumi jump and almost miss her shot.

Then Rumi had said something to Mira that was not ok and should have never been said.

But the hoonmoon was weak and they needed to get back to fighting the demons. Until Rumi's sword got knocked out of her hands, and the other 3 girls had to carry and fight the demons by themselves.

After surviving the demons themselves the girls got off the train, to find that they failed and no passengers survived.

That night over text, Baby had discussed that Jinu was meeting up with Rumi again. Lumi had agreed to go with Baby to spy on them, so that they did.

After sitting there for a hot minute listening to Rumi and Jinu yap they started singing about being 'free'.

Lumi had randomly noticed that Jinu was somehow helping the Honmoon while singing instead of hurting it. She wondered if the Honmoon reacted to good the good intentions of singing and not just the hunters.

After they finished the song Lumi and Baby gapped as they genuinely thought Rumi and Jinu were about to kiss, but alas they didn't.

Lumi and Baby were quietly booing and trying not to laugh again, because Jinu had yet again fumbled Rumi.

Rumi ended up making a deal with Jinu to help Huntr/X win the Idol Awards. Rumi had quickly left and Jinu telported away.

After Rumi and Jinu left Lumi and Baby were yapping and had also agreed to help eachother.

"I know it's probably dumb but would you also help Huntr/X win the Idol awards?" Lumi asked "I know you probably don't care about me and wo-" Baby quickly cut off Lumi "I'll help you. And I do care I'm just not sure how to show it" Baby explained with so much raw emotion in his tone. "I'll help you in any way I can tomorrow and if anything goes wr-" Baby suddenly telaported away.

Lumi was extremely worried about Baby not knowing what just happened to him.

She assumed Gwi-Ma had telaported Baby back to the demon realm, which couldn't have been good for Baby. So she just headed back to the penthouse where the girls were waiting.

After heading back to the penthouse the girls had a heartfelt discussion and ultimately decided that Takedown wasn't the song to sing.

They had discussed that Golden was a better fit song to sing at the Idol Awards. The song would help bring their fans together, ultimately sealing the Hoonmoon.

Chapter Text

The next day the Idol Awards had begun, and Huntr/X were walking to their dressing room when they passed the Saja Boys. While walking by Baby had quickly passed Lumi a not that read "don't listen to the voices, it's ok." Lumi had alarm bells going off in her head having no idea what the note meant. And yet she knew it was important somehow.

Suddenly Bobby busted into their room (which made Lumi jump) "Girls hurry! The Saja Boys are fighting and you're on stage now!" Bobby screamed. The girls were excited to take their long awaited break after winning and couldn't wait to get on (and off) the stage.

After completing their first part of Golden Lumi, Mira, and Zoey went off stage to let Rumi do her thing. Then they saw 'Bobby' getting dragged aways by demons. So the girls chased them down only to find out it was a diversion and 'Bobby' was a demon in disguise.

At that moment Lumi knew deep in her gut something was off... Then Takedown started playing.

Rumi was in trouble.

But the girls were to late, once they got there they found Rumi with patterns..? Lumi was confused, and a little hurt that she never told them all at the same time. She wasn't necessarily scared, but mainly confused and knew deep down there had to be more to the story.

Once Rumi ran off stage and found the girls, Mira and Zoey started backing up and had taken their weapons aiming them towards Rumi. Lumi didn't join them but ran backstage towards the dressing rooms not knowing what to do in that moment.

Lumi knew something was wrong and had to find Baby to make sure he was ok, and see if he knew anything about what was happening.

Lumi had found the Saja Boy's dressing room, but she was to late.

While frantically searching Lumi found a note on what looked to be Baby's dresser/table. It was in the same handwriting as the note he had passed to her before the concert exept this one read, "Lumi if you're readiung this don't go." She didn't know what that meant or why he would say that.

Then she heard a very loud movement thst made her jump.... It was something outside of the dressing room/backstage. It sounded like it was coming from the stadium?

Lumi ran outside, only to find all of the fans leaving the stadium in an un-human-like mob.

Outside the stadium in the mob of fans were gaint holograms of the Saja Boys leading everyone towards Nam-sam Tower for a concert.

She knew deep down that Baby would never betray her, and immediately knew something was wrong. Then Lumi heard Mira's and Zoey's voices.

They had started saying things that sounded like the little voice on the back of your head. Almost like they were being controlled by something.

As they spoke they started walking in the mob of fans towards Nam-sam Tower.

In that moment Lumi instantly knew what the first note from Baby was for after hearing Mira and Zoey, and didn't listen to the voices in her own head.

But Lumi's gut told her (and she knew) she had to do something about this. Exept the only way to do that was disregard Baby's second note and go to the concert herself.

Chapter Text

After arriving at Nam-sam Tower with everyone else, (trying her best to blend in with the crowd) the Saja Boys had suddenly came floating out of the stage with music playing.

As Lumi stood in the crowd, she saw Baby standing on stage looking like he was hypnotized, and not at all like himself.

She could tell he didn't want to do whatever that was. She tried to get closer to the stage and see if she could help Baby in any way, but the problem was she had no idea how to.

After the saja boys sang a little of the song Lumi was lowkey vibing, (totally breaking the Honmoon) Baby started preforming his rap.

It was amazing, something so hypnotizing that she had never heard before.

At the end of his rap Lumi locked eyes with Baby. He looked like he snapped out of trance, giving her a smile like he was happy to see her there. After Lumi looked away, Baby kept preforming with the rest of the boys like he was still hypnotized.

At the end of the song Rumi had appeared. Singing about what it sounds like.

Mira, and Zoey joined in along with Lumi and the girls reunited. Then the Saja Boys had started attacking the girls under Gwi-Ma's command.

Mystery was fighting Zoey, Romance and Abby fighting Mira, and Baby just standing there with Lumi not doing anything to her, just standing. Watching.

Then Gwi Ma had shot a beam of fire at Rumi almost killing her. But just in the nick of time, Jinu had stepped infront of it before Lumi could help.

Baby and Lumi stood there flabbergasted of what just happened.

Jinu had given Rumi his sould and turned into her sword, helping her defeat Gwi Ma along with the other girls.

"Run! Go anywhere but here!" Lumi had told Baby "The others will get you if you don't run now." Baby knew what to do and ran. "Wait take this" Lumi had given him a bracelet hoping that would be enough of her to keep him safe. Baby had kissed her just before running off. Lumi's heart skipped a beat at that, but she knew the others needed help.

With one final blow Rumi sliced Gwi-Ma with her new sword (kudos to Jinu) and made a new Honmoon with the girls.

They had finally helped the Honmoon.

Together.

2 days later the girls finally went to the bathhouse with Rumi, her patterns fully exposed.

They were all so happy about making a new honmoon, and made sure Rumi was ok after all that had happened.

As they soaked in the baths, Lumi, Mira, and Zoey learned about Rumi's patterns and how she got them.

Lumi had known from the start there was more to Rumi's story when her patterns wege first exposed, so Lumi wasn't to surprised when she talked about them.

All of the girls were of course understanding and still loved Rumi as a part of their family.

After the bathhouse, Huntr/X met some fans and had announced their 'comeback' era.

Lumi still had a lot to express about her relationship with Baby but didn't know if it was the time. All Lumi knew is that she would at some point, and hopefully Rumi would feel open to share about her and Jinu too.
