Chapter Text
My name is Noah, and I'm just your normal goat person. Well, it's not completely normal. I'm a bit short, around 5 feet tall, and lean, and I'm a bit of a nerd. I'm a senior in high school and get an A in all my classes except in P.E. The biggest difference is the fact that I'm completely gay. I'm fine with being gay but unfortunately, nobody else in my school is gay so I don't have many friends only one. The other students bully me a little. Nobody hurts me, but they do make fun of me and call me names. I do my best to ignore them, but it can get a little frustrating sometimes. Today was just another normal day. I went to school, passed another test, then came home, studied, ate, and then got ready for bed. I don't know why, but I was feeling sleepy today for some reason. As soon as I lay down on the soft bed and covered myself, I was out and sleeping peacefully.
When I opened my eyes, I was sitting on a table, and across from me was a person made of colors. I didn't mean metaphorically the person in front of me was literally made of colors. The being didn't have any facial features or wear any clothes he was simply different colors put together in the shape of a person.
[Hello Noah, nice to meet you, and before you ask, this isn't a dream, at least not a normal one.]
The person in front of me didn't have any eyes or a mouth, but I could still hear their voice. His voice didn't sound very manly, but it didn't sound feminine either, and because their body was literally made of different colored lights, I had no idea what gender they were. It said this wasn't a dream, but I wasn't so sure about that.
[If you need proof, just pinch your cheeks]
I did what he said and pinched myself really hard on several parts of my body, but no matter how hard or which part I pinched, I was still in the same place.
[Now that you realize this isn't a dream, let's get to the reason why I came here]
I could feel the seriousness in his voice when he said that, so I paid close attention.
[We don't have much time together so I'll get right to the point your world will be destroyed soon]
As soon as he finished saying that the scenery in front of me changed. Instead of a person and a table, I was in the middle of a city similar to the ones I've been to but with several small differences. The people around me looked completely different than anyone I have ever seen in my life and when I turned to my right and I saw my reflection in a window and was surprised to see I looked like the people around me. This place and its people were so different that it felt like I was in a different world. The next thing that happened I could only describe as the apocalypse. I heard a loud explosion coming from above me and when I looked up I saw several giant cracks in the sky almost as if the sky had broken. The cracks became bigger and bigger until eventually giant holes appeared in the sky and from those holes monsters began to fall. The entire city quickly fell into chaos everybody started running and screaming including me. The monsters began destroying the city as soon as they arrived and killing anyone they saw. There was no order or strategy to their attacks they just destroyed and killed anything they saw. The entire city was full of screaming people, dead bodies, and cries of despair. I was running all around the city trying to get away but no matter where I went monsters were everywhere. I ran and ran until I was exhausted and couldn't run anymore. I found an empty alley and hid in there to rest. Just as I started relaxing a little I suddenly felt an intense pain in my chest. When I looked at it I saw a huge claw covered in blood piercing through my chest. The next thing I saw was a giant open mouth with very sharp teeth getting closer and closer until it closed.
I opened my eyes and found myself in the room with the rainbow person again. I was breathing heavily I could still feel all the fear, despair, and pain I felt when I was running through the city.
"What was that!?"
[What you just saw and felt was a memory of a person who lived in a once peaceful world but now that world is in ruins and your world is next]
I started to calm down a little but I was still tense from what the person was telling me.
[Your world will go through a dramatic change several years from now and if nothing changes soon your world will be destroyed]
The rainbow person started explaining what I just saw and what would happen to my world. In exactly 30 years from now, cracks between dimensions will start appearing all around the world. From these cracks, two things will start to flow out of them and into my world. The first one will be monsters like the ones I saw in the memory from before and the second one will be a special kind of energy.
[The energy goes by different names each world calls it something different. I believe your people would call it magic]
As soon as I heard the word magic I got a little excited. I'm a bit of a fantasy fan always looking for a good story to read or a good game to play.
[I wouldn't get so excited just yet]
The rainbow person explained to me that magic would start flowing through the world like the wind and heat filling everything with it. Once the people of my world absorbed enough magic they would undergo a transformation most worlds call awakening which would allow them to use the magic to fight back against the monsters.
"Sounds like my world isn't doomed after all right?"
[Unfortunately, it's not that simple]
The being then started explaining how even when the people of my world awaken it still wouldn't be enough to save my world. My world has never had magic once since its birth and that includes all the people born in it which means absorbing and adapting to the magic won't be easy. Adapting to the magic would be like somebody getting used to a warm climate even though they live their entire lives in cold climates. It's not easy and it will take a long time for somebody to get used to the sudden change in temperature and even when they get used to it they would still feel uncomfortable in warm places. The being told me that since the people of my world have lived without magic since birth getting used to the magic that will fill the world would require time.
"How long will it take?"
[I'm not completely sure but most people would need at least a month and that's the average some people might need more time]
The more I hear the being talking the more nervous I get.
[I should probably mention that many people would die from being exposed to magic]
"What?"
The being told me that since my world never had magic the bodies of some people might see the magic as a dangerous thing or they might not be able to adapt. It told me it's similar to a peanut allergy most people can eat tons of peanuts without problem but some could die just from eating one. Other people might not be able to adapt to the magic well since their bodies have never had it before.
"So you're saying people will die just from breathing. How many people would die from that?"
[I'm not completely sure but I believe 10 percent of your world's population would die just from being exposed to the magic and another 15 percent would fail to awaken properly]
Hearing those numbers made me start worrying about my world's future.
"What do you mean people won't awaken properly?"
[It means that some people would get a little stronger but won't be able to use magic to fight back against the monsters]
The more I hear the worse it gets. I decided to ask a question that I quickly regretted asking.
"How strong are the monsters that will invade my world?"
[Each world has its own way of measuring the strength of these monsters if I were to put it in terms you would understand around 10% would be D rank or lower, 50% would be C rank, 30% B rank, 7% A rank, and 3% S rank]
"And what about the people of my world?"
[As I said before 10% would die, 15% would fail to awaken, 65% would awaken to D rank, 9% would be C rank, and 1% would become B rank]
"Only 1% of the world would become B rank and not a single person would become A rank!?"
[There's a very small chance one person would awaken as an A rank but it's a very low chance and only one person in the whole world would be A rank]
My heart and mind were racing from fear of everything the rainbow person was saying. My world was doomed and there was nothing anybody could do about it. Just as I was about to give up all hope the rainbow person told something important.
[Before you give up I'll tell you that there is still hope. Your world as it is doesn't stand a chance against the monsters that are coming but that's why I'm here right now to change things so your world will have a fighting chance]
"How!?"
[You have to breed with others get them pregnant and have them birth your sons]
"...what?"
