Work Text:
Tweek shot up out of bed, screaming and gasping for air. He clutched his chest as he wheezed and coughed, pain shooting through his chest as he began to panic. He clamped his eyes shut, brought his knees to his chest and started rocking back and forth. Everything was bright and loud and his sweat stuck to him uncomfortably and the blanket was itchy and- “Tweek?” a soft voice said in the distance. He felt a hand sit slowly on his and he jumped, “Hey shh shh, it's ok honey.” He heard Craig say, “It was just a dream. Breath sweetheart. In and out.” Tweek felt him sit up next to him, “Is-Is it ok if I touch you?” He thought about it for a minute, as panicky as he was right now, and as much as he hated people touching him, Craig was an ok person to touch him.
“Yeah.” He said, tears beginning to well in his eyes. Craig gently wrapped his arms around his partner, looping around his body and covering him up like a christmas sweater.
“I’ve got you.” He whispered before placing a soothing kiss to his head.
“You-you can go b-back to slee-sleep if you w-w-want. I know you-you’ve got class to-tomorrow.” Tweek squeeked out.
Tweek and Craig moved far, FAR away from South Park when they went to college. Tweek didn’t end up going and got a job as a janitor at the college. Craig was in school getting his psychology degree but also working part time as a server at a Mexican restaurant.
“No honey I’ll stay up with you. As long as you need.” He said in a light, calming voice. “What were you dreaming about? Your therapist said it might be good for you to talk about them.” Tweek hesitated. He didn’t like talking about his dreams because he knows, deep, deep down that they won’t happen but he has crippling anxiety from them anyway. He feels…crazy. “Come on Tweek, please talk to me.” Tweek sniffled, and a tear fell down his cheek,
“You…you died.” He huffed out. “And then everyone died.” More tears started to stream down his face, “And then I died…and it was just nothingness. It was just…black.” Craig drew him closer,
“Oh love.” He cooed, “I’m sorry you had to see that.” He brought his hands up to Tweeks face, “Tweek, look at me.” He turned his head towards him but still had his eyes clamped shut, “Look into my eyes.” Craig swiped the tears off his cheeks with his thumbs and Tweek slowly opened his teary eyes, “I’m ok Tweek. I’m right here. I’m not going anywhere.” He touched their foreheads together and felt his breathing slow. “I love you.” He said.
“I love you too.” Tweek replied, leaning to the side and pressing a soft kiss to lips. Feeling his lips against his. Their love is all around them. In their shitty, studio apartment that was way overpriced. But that’s what they get for moving away from South Park. Worth it.
“Do you want your medicine?” Craig asked after their kiss broke. He thought about it for a second, then shook his head,
“No, I think…I think I’ll be ok, just-just don’t let go of me.” He said. Craige smiled,
“Wouldn’t dream of it sweetheart.” They kissed once more before laying back down, under the covers. Craig had his arms around Tweek’s waist and Tweek was nuzzling up to Craig’s chest.
“Goodnight Craig. Th-thank you.”
“Of course honey. I love you.”
“I love you too.”
