It was an accident.
That's what had happened the first time.
"So you pull the ring and then it explodes." She explained to him, grabbing the ring of her invention and attempting to pull it right there.
"Wait!" Ekko shouted at her stopping her movement, he held her hand and grabbed the color bomb."We can't do this here, Benzo is going to kill us if we explode his place!"
That day Benzo's shop was closed. So both, Powder and Ekko, thought that it was a cool idea to stay there and play around for a while. In Powder's case, it was also an excuse to try her new experiment and hide from Mylo and his annoying jokes about the failure of her inventions. She knew that Ekko wouldn't make fun of her, instead he would be interested in her ideas and help her to create new things.
"Where can we try it? Vander wouldn't let me do this in our house either!" She complained, crossing her arms and pouting. "He yelled at me and Vi last time we played with my crayons and painted the walls of his room."
Vi was the one who didn't stop her and instead she invited herself and joined Powder with her activity of painting the wall's room. They were enjoying painting all the walls with a lot of drawings and colors. It was funny, but Vander didn't like that there was a drawing of Silco painted by Powder in the middle of his room wall.
He left it because didn't want to make Powder sad, but he was really mad at her and VI.
Ekko stood up and started to walk in circles. Benzo strictly said to him that they could play there but they were prohibited to go out without supervision and they also couldn't touch anything of the shop mercancy. The last time they were out without supervision they almost got taken by Pilties because they were causing some disturbance. Vander found them and almost had a heart attack so now they were more attentive towards them.
Maybe if they move towards the windows they could pull the ring of the bomb and throw it outside.
He stopped in front of Powder and extended his hand and asked her to give him the color bomb, she saw him with curiosity and grabbed the color bomb off the floor.
"You have an idea?" he nodded, then Powder gave him her invention and stood up out of her designated box seat to follow him.
They walked towards the window, it was a little bit tall for them to reach it, so Ekko went where Powder was sitting before and held the box and placed it below the windowsill. They both stepped in it and they were shoulder to shoulder because the box was small.
"We are gonna throw it down there?" Powder asked Ekko putting her hands on the windowsill, looking down the streets."Do you think that someone is going to walk through and we accidentally dropped it in their head?"
She moved the head to her right and smiled with joy at him. She was taller than him by just one centimeter, Ekko tended to feel a bit annoyed by it, especially when everyone around called him Little Man. But Powder never mentioned something about it, so it was alright.
"It'll be so funny." he said doing the same thing as her and putting his arms in the windowsill, he did tip toed a little to watch down and make sure that there were no one. "I think we could try it, I don't see anyone out there so we're alrigh.t"
At 9 years old, they clearly didn't care about the consequences of blowing up a color bomb in the middle of Zaun's street. They just wanted to see the colors and hear the boom.
Ekko rapidly pulled the king kof the bomb and threw it through the window without any doubt. Powder had lowered her head to look down just to see how in the exact moment he threw the bomb, Claggor and VI decided to appear out of nowhere walking in the street.
Powder, with her eyes widened, gasped and exchanged a preoccupied look with Ekko before streamed in alarm.
"NO!"
Down there, Vi heard a familiar voice screaming so she stopped to look at Benzo's window.
The view was quite funny, Powder was moving her arms and saying no and stop meanwhile Ekko was paralyzed with his big brown eyes.
Unlike Vi, Claggor clearly did not seem to listen to the screams, so he just kept walking. And in the exact moment Vi saw the bomb and was about to advise him, it was already late.
BOOM!

Pink and green smoke was spread through the street. Paint covered all the walls, the street and even the windows. Vi was shocked, standing there with her mouth opened and she seemed like words wanted to come out of her. The color bomb reached her and a little of her body and face.
Claggor had received all the colorful attack. He was painted from head to toe, pink and green was part of him as one. He stayed quiet, still processing what had happened.
"I..." he attempted to speak.
As he said that, Vi immediately took conscience.
"Powder! Ekko!" She screamed moving her head to see the two kids up in the shop, Powder crouched a little so Vi could only see a little of her small head and her big eyes. Ekko, on the other hand, was standing in the windows still in shock about the event that they had caused. "You two have one minute to start running, now!"
They stared at each other with panic, Vi was mad and it was bad, really bad.
"What do we do, Ekko?"she asked preoccupied "We cannot stop her now, she will kill us!"
"Maybe we should run and hide somewhere."
But it was too late, Vi was already walking to the building and she went directly to the door with Claggor behind her.
Powder had run to the door—almost falling in the process—and blocked it with her body. Ekko could hear how Vi was getting closer by the sound of her steps. He moved towards Powder and helped her by putting his hand on the doorknob. They felt the impact of Vi's body pushing the door with all her force.
"Ugh, Claggo why don't you help me." she kept pushing the door and changed her position to confront Claggor, so now she was pushing backwards the door.
"I told you it's okay, they didn't do it on purpose. Powder always does this kind of things." He said trying to calm her sister so she couldn't kill her other sister and Ekko.
She kept moving her entire body against the door looking at him with a dreadful look.
"Do you think I care?"
Her eyes were full of fury.
"I don't think so" he answered quickly.
"So move your ass and help me get them, you're too soft on them."
Ekko, who was clearly listening to the conversation, moved really smoothly away from the door. If Vi alone couldn't totally open the door, with the help of Claggor she would.
He was now in front of Powder, she was still there with her body against the door. Seeing that Ekko wasn't at her side anymore, confused she twirled to see him. Her back was now facing the door while she was looking at him with scared big blue eyes.
"Why are you there, help me!" She screamed at Ekko desperately. She hadn't heard Vi words, she was so concentrated in blocking the door that ignored everything else.
"Powder, let the door! She had–"
"CLAGGOR NOW!"
At that moment, Ekko saw how Powder was flew out of her place in the door. Everything felt like a slow camera effect, Ekko was in front of her and Powder slowly was falling directly at Ekko's body. collapsed with each other and Ekko was thrown abruptly on the floor with Powder above him.
Powder forehead hit Ekko's and their noses crashed together, they couldn't see what had happened because they had closed their eyes, until they felt it...
As their nose crashed, other parts of their faces were touching, their lips had touched.
When they opened their eyes and realized it, both rapidly broke apart. Ekko was shocked his hand stabilized him so he was sitting. Powder was there doing the same with her mouth opening and closing without knowing what to say or do.
"Wha–"
Vi decided to enter the shop before Powder began to talk, Ekko at seeing her increased the panic, what would Vi do if she discovered they kissed. Well, if he could have called that a kiss, it was an accident.
But he will not face her now, so he chose to do the obvious thing. He ran.
He quickly stood up out of the floor and rushed at the door passing through Vi side and almost hit Claggor in the process.
"What–"Vi twirled to see him running. "Ekko come here!"
"Vi let him, I'm going. You can talk to Powder." Claggor raised his hand trying to calm Vi, she thought for a minute and ended up nodding. Claggor just looked with pity at Powder who was still there on the floor analyzing the situation. "Don't be too hard on her"
Vi rolled her eyes. She knew how to treat her sister.
"Whatever, go find Little Man" Vi turned towards Powder who was shocked, her blue eyes were wide and she couldn't move. Vi started to panic a little because Powder was so sensitive and she hated seeing her sister crying.
"What's wrong Pow, I'm not angry at you I was just surprised."She had crouched in front of her and put her hands on the sides of her shoulders. “You can tell me, is it something I said or...?"
Powder eyes started to fill with water and she was trying not to let any tears because she didn't want to cry in front of Vi, not now, not about this. But she couldn't not tell her.
"We...I–I think we kissed"
“What?” Vi asked confused.
“We kissed, Ekko and I.” Powder said with some difficulty because of her tears.
Vi was lost, she was full of paint and now she was seeing her little sister crying because of a kiss.
“It was an accident, right?” She asked before she started looking for Ekko with her guanteletes around all Zaun, yes Ekko was just a kid but Powder was her little sister.
She needed to protect her.
“Y-yes.” Powder sobbed.
“So…”Vi said more calmly. “Can you tell me why you are crying?”
She held her hands and pressed them tightly, she was affected by whatever had happened. That made her feel bad because she had screamed at her.
“He fell and our lips touched, but we didn't mean to kiss, we were just trying to avoid you.” She said sobbing horrible. “I think he will never speak to me again, right?”
Powder cried more and more, she was terrified that she would lose her friendships with Ekko just because they accidentally kissed.
Vi pressed her lips trying not to laugh, Powder was really bad but it was kinda funny how she was really worried by the situation. It was an innocent kiss, it didn't mean anything.
“You don't have to worry about that, it was an accident Pow. Ekko surely will forget in a few days and you two will be talking again.” She hugged her sister trying to comfort her, Powder was still crying but she was calming a little.”A kiss is not that bad”
“But it was my first kiss, doesn't it have to be special?”She asked curiously looking with her big eyes at her sister who didn't know what to answer to that question.
“I…” Vi didn't know what to say, it was obvious that for Powder it was something important, she was a child after all. “You know…having your first kiss is not that important.”
“Did you have your first kiss?.”Powder asked innocently. Vi didn't know what to say.
“We're not talking about my first kiss here.”She definitely didn't want to tell her about her first kiss.”The thing is, Ekko is your friend and you trust him, that is special even if you two are friends you still appreciate him, right?.” She saw how Powder slowly started to nod, her cheeks were red, Vi suppressed a smile, she was too cute.”You will be okay, it was just a silly kiss, nothing to worry, and having your first kiss with a friend like Ekko is not that bad.”
Vi was right, Powder though. It wasn't that bad, they could just forget about it and still play together. It was just an accident, kisses weren't that important.
“I think you're right.”Powder said now smiling” I’m going to talk to Ekko.”
She stood up and started running to get out of Benzo's shop. Vi was still there in the floor full of paint that it wasn't easy to clean up. She let out a sight.
“These kids.”
After all the drama, Powder talked to Ekko who was very ashamed and didn't stop saying sorry. Powder just smiled and told her that it was okay.
They solved the problem and kept playing around, until Vander found out about the problem with the bomb.
They didn't see each other for three days due to that incident. Benzo and Vander were mad.
But they learned what a kiss was. They shared their first kiss.
The first of many.
