He took a breath, and pushed his glasses back with his index. “However, we seem to have miscalculated the number of students and the number of rooms, so I have to say that one room will be occupied by a boy and a girl.”
Powder’s eyes darted over to the couple sitting a few rows ahead of her, both of whom were already eyeing each other lovingly. Yikes. She hoped it wouldn’t be them.
“The students are.. Ekko Kael and Powder Lane.”
The silence that followed from everyone in the room was deafening.Even the air conditioning went quiet. The janitor halted.
Everyone took turns looking at Ekko, then Powder, then Ekko again.
Ekko could only sigh and shove his face in his hands.
