"Bridges."
"Bridges?" Applejack shifted on to her side to look at Rainbow Dash. She was expecting her marefriend's signature teasing smirk, but instead found the latter looking surprisingly genuine. "Yer sayin' the thing that surprised you the most when you moved to Ponyville... Were bridges?" Applejack continued, eyebrows raised.
Rainbow Dash faltered. "No- I mean- well, yes. But think about it AJ! Cloudsdale is a city full of pegasi. We can fly! Who needs bridges then?"
"Alrigh', alrigh'," Applejack grinned. "But c'mon. There's got to be something else?"
"Yeah. Grass."
Applejack started laughing. Rainbow Dash prodded the back of her guffawing girlfriend in hopes that she would stop. "AJ, I'm serious!"
AJ did not listen.
"Quit it! I don't know if you know this, but grass doesn't grow on clouds," Dash said.
"'Course it don't!" Applejack wiped away tears. "I just didn't realise something that's everywhere here woulda been new for you."
"It's not new! It's... different up close. I've always seen it from Cloudsdale - grass is the first thing you see. But, down here, it's spikier than I imagined. Clouds are so much more comfortable."
Applejack glanced around. They were currently lying on grass in her orchard.
"Spiky grass, eh? Mighty kind of ya to suffer lying on the grass with me," Applejack said, lying down on her back again.
"Yeah, well, I'd do anything for you."
AJ paused, a fierce blush painting her cheeks. She lifted herself up on one elbow and looked at Rainbow.
"Getting romantic now, are we?" Applejack teased, trying and failing to fight off the smile tugging at her lips.
Rainbow smirked. Gosh darn it, that smile.
"Maybe..."
"Didn't think ya were lovey-dovey like that."
"I'm not, this is all you and your stupid sexy face's fault.
"You mean this face?" Applejack smiled smugly, her face mere inches from Dash.
"No."
Now it was Applejack's turn to falter. She drew back and stared in confusion.
"No?" She echoed.
"No," Rainbow confirmed. Before Applejack could reply Rainbow Dash dove forward and tackled Applejack in a huge hug. They went rolling across the spiky grass and suddenly they were kissing.
Rainbow pulled back for a bit.
"This face."
Applejack smiled. "Just kiss me."
Rainbow obliged.
